Players who can't settle in the area

I'm have a major problem with players who can't settle in the area. I'm in my first season with Blackburn on CM4 and two of my new additions (Eddie Pope and Athirson) are finding it difficult to settle in the area and said that they will probably leave in the offseason. The club is performing well (we are in 4th place) but they are still unhappy. Is there anyway to make them happy or should I just sell them? Pope's contract isn't long (I wish I made it longer) but Athirson is signed through 2007 (and it's only 2003 in my game) so I don't want to sell him. Also, Pope and Athirson are my only two starting defenders whose rights are owned by the club since my other two starting defenders (Phillippe Mexes and Cristian Chivu) are loan players and I doubt I will be able to bring them back so I really don't want to lose them.

ok, the best idea (also happens to be the most simplest) is to keep them happy, what i mean by this is to keep their morale up.

Do this by playing them both regularly, not abusing them, WINNING MATCHES, and a few 'pig in the middle' training sessions would be useful too.

For long term contracts this works because after a while they WILL settle.

I'm suprised Eddie Pope isnt settling seeing as there isnt a language barrier.

My advice would be to sit it out

Thanks for the advice. I've been playing them but I'll use Pig in the Middle once in a while in training. We have also been winning matches. It's March and I'm currently 4th in the EPL, and we are still alive in the UEFA Cup and FA Cup. I made it to the League Cup Final but lost to Arsenal. :(

hmm, I had this problem with Maxim and Palacio too when I was managing Auxerrre after one season they both got settled. So my advice is keep them, let them play and mostly they'll get settled and happy again after a year.

I had this with Suleiman Mohammed and Þorarrin Brynjar Kristjánsson in my Cannes game. Mohammed needed 2 whole seasons to settle, but eventually did.

All players will settle sometime, but they can have a big drop in performance for the duration of their mental problems. You'll need to keep playing them, no matter how bad they perform, or it will only get worse.

De la Cuesta claimed he couldn't settle in the area (Holland), I just played him for a few matches, got a couple of 7's and 8's and two weeks later he's happy again :)

the key word is adaptability. If it's high, then there wont be a problem, if adapt. value is 1... merry christmas and a happy new year :p

I've had de Jong for 3 seasons and he still hasn't settled in...what a bastard.

Frankly I don't care...so long as he gets 8 ratings and keeps on resigning.

Now...its a different story when a player of mine criticizes me...I don't tolerate that.

Alan Smith has been in my reserves for 3 yrs....if he wants out he better just agree to being sold to a Japanese club....bc I plan on ruining his career:rockman:

Chelsea offered me 30 million euros...but now tat I am rich...they can stuff their money.

He had the nerve to question me and then take shots at me.
