Players Shoot too much in Cm

I don't know about you guys but my mids shoot too much from far away.As soon as they reach the 35 m area they shoot and they have never scored.I don't even tell them to shoot and the thing that bothers me most is that they all have more then 18 in long shots.Well I'm at least winning but my brother in the same game with parma has nakata who shoots from anywhere when he gets the ball and he hasn't scored at least once.

My strikers are also so lame they miss so many easy chances with the open net.Is this for everyone becasue they are so good.I mean Makaay,Diego Tristan,Luques.Onve I put a reserve on with like 10 finishing and he scrored like 2 goals.Cm is so imbalanced.I even saw a match where Denmark beat Sweden 5-0 nothing and this guy with 9 finishing and no double digit attributes scored a hat trick.

Just because they have high stats does not mean they will always do well. Take in other factors. They could have somebody hot on their heels and are desperate to get a shot off and they fluff it. On the other hand, it could be windy so the wind carries the ball.

Henry has finishing of 13. He scored 56 goals for me in a single season. The attributes are balanced. Give him 20 finishing and he will end up with 96 goals a season. Take into consideration the fact he has higher stats than most other players which makes him better.

I sometimes have scoring problems aswell. My strikers are fine but I know what you mean about long shots and midfielders. I cant count the times Kily Gonzalez has shot way to early and yet he still has no goals to his name. I have changed my tactic now in the hope that it will improve the situation.

Maybe your players shoot too much because you have the "Long Shots" enabled for some of your players

Nah checked that. My players are still scoring well but they do try a few too many too early.

I just had one match where my striker got through, with only 2 defenders between him and the goal, from 35 yards he shoots.

I think it depends on the players attitude for ex. if Totti is playing he will shoot like 10 times

i started my cm4 with a turkish side called Genc Birligi cos it has 2 egyptian players along their side....and guys i was begging them to shoot every game ,i set some of my midfielders and deffenders instructions for long shots and even i trained some for long shots when they were already carrying in their boot more than 15 in long shot
yet no one were shooting , i get a one long shot every 3 games or so and the funny thing always by non long shoting pal who is not set for it!!
lucky u for having someone making u feel like a real coach whose orders are to be applied

Maybe all your other players have low flair, and very high teamwork, so they tend to pass the ball alot more.

I seem to get loads of long shots at Liverpool, Gerrard and Hamann are forever trying them, mostly to no avail. But i dont mind

Just been playing with Tonge. He shoots from 30 yards and always hits the target.

I have been playing against Robben. Damn he's good, sprinting down left wing, my defence peel away and mark in the box and he catches me out not once but twice at the near post.

He's too fooking good.
