Balon d'or won it by Van Basten, in that span he won it ALL he could posssible won on either clubs (as a team and individual) and NT (Euro cup, the only major trophy for holland). Injuries shorten his career BUT he most be considerer as the best player of the 90's

In the late 90's + Early 2000's I'd have to say the players that sort of shadow over everyone else have to be Zidane and Ronaldo.... Other players may have had their run of excellent form (nedved, figo, etc), but I dont think anyone has been as consistently good as Ronaldo or Zidane (when fit).

and you think Aldair and Giannini were better than Marco Van Basten, because he was not only great at Milan but when he was playing with Ajax he was amazing too.

then Ronaldo who had phenomenal time only in Barca, he could be player of 1/3 of decade
then Rivaldo in 2/3 of decade
then Zidane in 3/3 of decade

and then Ronaldinho in 1/3 of current decade

how you can see, practically all great players are/was Barca players

How can people put people like Totti and Rosicky to be the player of the '00s? That has to be Thierry Henry, come on, the guy has won the World Cup, European Chamionship, Premier League, Cups, everything except Champions League. He is a dominating figure in the Premier League, always finishing very high on both the top scorers and the assists list. He's probably the most valuable player in the Premiership.

80s: Platini/Maradona
90s: Many great one's, Baggio, Cantona, Maldini, Romario, Batistuta +++
00s so far: Thierry Henry
