Player Indicator Size

I've looked around the web a bit, and others noticed this so I'm not going nuts: does anyone else find the player indicator arrows too small? Anyway, my question is if anyone knows how I might be able to adjust the size or glow of the player indicator arrows.

I created a mod for that. If you can get it to work, let me know how.

Given that there is no link, I think I can safely assume that your response was to mock me. So you went out of your way to create this picture? If I'm mistaken, I apologize; otherwise, you have too much time on your hands.

To those who are interested, I'll be looking into this in greater detail and I'll post my findings.

I'm uncertain about this, but I believe that the player indicator arrow is within the file data\sceneassets\presentation\presentation_1.rx3. It is the first file (File 0). My first thought was that I would just enlarge the arrow texture within the same image file size (32x32). I think that it made a difference in-game, but I was still confined to the 32x32 pixel space and could not enlarge the arrow to the degree I would like.

Does anyone know how to get a .rx3 file to accept a file size that is larger than the original file texture? For example, how do you get a shoe.rx3 file containing a 512x512 texture originally to accept a 1024x1024 texture replacement?

I could just be chasing a false positive with this .rx3 file anyway.

That is correct.

I'm interested too, because in 4k it's nearly impossible to see these indicators..

Yes!!! I'm on a 28" 4K monitor and I never know which freaking player I'm controlling. I'll keep you posted.

Also would be possible to have always the name upon the players? Without the fade in-out...

Yeah, im also finding this a real problem. It's preventing me from playing the game at 4K, came here looking for a fix.

I'm still working on it. There are settings within the data/fifarna/lua/assets/ files (i.e. indicator.lua). I'm short on time right now, but I'll keep searching.

What happens if you change your screen resolution?

I haven't tried changing resolutions, but I think I'd rather play at 4K with difficult to see indicators. Perhaps there is a setting telling the game to render the indicator arrows in 1080p rather than 4K.

Whereabouts is that? I'mm new to all of this but im having a go with CG file explorer. I'm also looking for a way to change the default controller settings so that the second player doesnt need to change their settings everytime the game boots up, tedious as hell.

EDIT: never mind i found them, how do we go about opening them?
EDIT2: Got them open, no indicator.lua though. Maybe something for the indicator is in one of the other settings, im having a dig around now.
EDIT3: Doesn't seem to be anything related to the indicator size in there unfortunately. I think the problem is it isn't a variable thing that can be changed.

Well, my thinking is that it is either a scaling setting (which is why I brought up the lua files... although it might be set in the DB) or else it is a texture size issue. I'll look into the DB for setting within fifagamesettings table.

The texture size won't scale it. With high res texture- you'll just have more pixel density.

Maybe the scaling thing has to do with the Fifa.exe itself?

That makes sense... I figured as much given that the game scales kits, boot, etc... textures to the model regardless of the texture size. I am going to ask EA -- just as an exercise in futility. I'll keep trying to figure this one out, but the best thing would be a patch.

Did anything ever transpire regarding making this bigger or disabling the fading? As a workaround attempt I turned on permanent player name display, so I at least have some indicator for who I am controlling..

Hex the RX3 to use a larger texture, the same way 2X kits are used.

I'm interested in it. Were you successful in making the indicators bigger? I have a hex editor and I have been able to make the grass texturehi res in Fifa WC 2002 and change the resolutions in some games.

Did you find the indicator file? I am lookibg for it in data files atm.

Coukd yu please explain a bit more. this thread should be stickied if a solution can be found
