Player Growing through Creation Master

I find a amazing growing player: Westberg from Troyes

He grows from 60 something to finally 88!

The key problem I want ot ask is: How can he managed to do this?

I'm trying to use the function of Creation master. But which figures should I edit?

I find several already, but not quite sure how should be inputed (i.e. what figure?)

Potential
Learning speed
development

Also,it the "international reputation" related to one's salary and transfer fee?

If you are lucky he can grow even higher than that. By default he should get stuck at 88 (or maybe a little below) but since a player joining the manager's team gets an increase in their potential of up to 15 points he could (theoretically) reach 99.

Player development is primarily driven by the curve(s) that the player follows, defined by the developmentstylecode and developmenttypecode (in CM07 these are controlled by the two development values in the career section bottom R of the player attributes tab), which control at what age a player starts to develop, how quickly, at what age they peak, and how quickly they decline. Easiest way to see these curves is to use DB Master to open FIFA.DB, export the curves table and load it into a spreadsheet. The 'a' through 'ee' columns represent the flow of time, with 'a' being age 15 and 'ee' 45.

Ignoring the XP system (which only affects players on the manager's own team) this represents a cap on the player's individual attributes. An existing attribute can start higher than this level but will not increase (although it may decrease once the player passes their peak). NOTE that the game also caps the displayed OVR at this level (again excepting XP) although theoretically a player could actually have a higher OVR (because of attributes that started higher than their potential)

I don't believe that this affects general player development, only the XP system

One thing to note about these values is that certain attributes (acceleration, sprint speed, stamina and strength) develop along a different curve (the PhysicalCurve entries in the curves table) based purely on the player's development type (ie. early, normal or late bloomer)

It appears to be a factor in both player value and wage, but only where it is either 4 or 5. I say 'appears' because there are parameters in the CAREER.INI file that suggest that but I've not yet attempted to reproduce those figures and thus have no proof whether the .INI parameters are the be-all and end-all of the calculation.

You can't 'make' them grow to 99, or even 80. Some will, some won't, and those values are pretty much preordained. The XP system means that by giving players playing time, and having them do well, they can improve over and above the default development, but that is an inexact science and there seems to be little rhyme or reason to who grows that bit extra and who doesn't.

Thanks mate,one more question.

Everyone knows that placing a player in a positions not preferred, his stat will fall. (e.g. Placing Kewell in LB will make his stat fall to 50!!!)

But how come some players with mismatched position,he may have higher values?

The most common case in for the CAM,like Nuri Sahin and Adu,when I place them in wings, their stats rise!

RB like Ifil (Tottenham) and Eboue, when I place them in CB,stats rise!

Lahm,when I place he in LM,stats 86!

More extreme is for Bilgia (from Anderlecht),when he is in CDM (preferred position, stats is 84/84 (growth!)

But when he is in LB or RB,the stats is 85/84!

If I put Larsson in CB,he still gets 77/79 or something.

But for Owen or others,it will only be 50 something!

What makes such difference? (esp. comparing Kewell and Biglia)

The OVR values shown for a player out of position are simply recalculated using the primary attributes for the new position, so if the player is a good all-rounder then they will not show much if any drop off from their preferred position, but placing a player with lousy defensive skills in a defensive position will produce the sort of result you see for Owen or Kewell (neither of whom have Marking or Tackling attributes worth toffee) or Biglia (who being a CDM does have good Marking/Tackling).

Be aware though that there is a bug in the manager mode Team Management (which may also apply in other places like My Squads or tournament mode, I've never bothered checking) which will sometimes show wildly inaccurate values for a player out of position (100/nn is a real giveaway, but other examples are less obvious). If you play someone out of position it is always best to check the on-pitch value (or better still, from Manage Your Team after selecting Next Match) to make sure that they haven't suddenly plummeted to 75% of the level you were led to believe.
