No , You shut your mouth. Pinto did deserve to be sent off, I never said he didn't deserve it. I found tha bookings a lil one sided. Anyway I still think that ref had no business reffing a World Cup game , He is a JOKE .... Im Out

I just hope nobody out there take the part for the whole. This guy is a moron, that put is team on the line and a country to shame. SHAME! I'm ashamed that we have (had) a guy like him in our team.

For the record, he deserved to be sent off, but the refs have been protecting Korea. Portugal lost mainly because of its coach, but I think we deserve to expose this situation: the Korean players did whatever they wanted and got away with it.
As I write these lines, Italy lost to Korea with another unbelievable refereeing!

he usully mislead the refs to wrong decisions by simulating penaltys, in the FC Porto vs Sporting Lisbon last season he managed to get two penaltys by simulation, and many more during the season. he always gets away with it! but now he is totally f*cked!!

the fun part is that he probably gets a 4-days ban, or maybe even more, which almost definitively rules him out of EURO 2004 on his homeground....since Portugal have no qualifying games - no way to get rid of the ban....and so he will probably be ready for the semifinals or finals in EURO2002 if Portugal gets that far...and besides I would like to see a coach selecting a player for the EURO squad, who he knows cannot play until the end of the tourney....

I think I've gotten over the whole WC thing already....now, I'm just starting to get anxious about what our team will be like for Euro2004. With up and coming players like Simao, Quaresma, Helder Postiga, Hugo Viana, Makukula, etc...etc...I think we could potentially have the best Portugal squad ever! (providing we get a decent coach! )

That´s true ::shinji:: but have you seen Makukula in the European Youth Tournment in Switzerland? He didn´t do much, he missed a couple of gols, and his major weapon is strength, he doesn´t have the technical skills of Postiga, and the rest of the team! Nevertheless that was his first tournamnet with the team and he has a lot of time to improve!

But you r right about Simao, Quaresma, Helder Postiga, Hugo Viana, not forgetting Sergio Leite, Tonel, Ricardo Costa, Vasco Faisca, Paulo Ferreira, Hugo Leal, Ednilson, Tiago, Miguel, Candido Costa, Paulo Costa, Bosingwa, Neca, Cesar Peixoto, etc!
I think this guys and a few of the youngsters from WC2002 will make a hell of a team to Euro2004! But we still need a lot of work because talent isn´t enough! And i´m tired of dreaming , i want results!!!

Yeah, I was a little dissapointed with Makukula in Switzerland too, but like you said it was his first tournament with the team. He could be the type of player who could be important coming off the bench or against physically strong defences from Northern Europe...

Ah yes, I forgot about Neca, I love watching him play...did you see the Belenenses-Sporting game this past season? Neca was brilliant!
