Well, he was sentenced to prison from 2002-2005 but after he came out he was making some good songs. During the mid 90's he was definately well-known in the hip-hop world with him being one-half of the group UGK alongside Bun B and even their 2007 self-titled album UGK (Underground Kingz) debuted #1 in the US Billboard 200.

Pimp C had a nice solo career, but only released 2 albums, and his 2006 (last) album Pimpalation, debuted at #3.
