picking a team for online league play...help deciding

alright, im going to join an online league, and i'm supposed to pick a team. but there are several that have already been picked:

AC Milan, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Juventus, Manchester Utd, Liverpool,U.N.A.M., Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, FC Porto

so that takes a lot of the best teams in the world out already. so im thinking...well i am an american, and i would love to play with an mls team, just to support my boys ya know:) but at the same time, i'm like "man, i dont want to suck!" ive seen the ratings of the mls teams, and at best i can get a 3/5 team going up against teams like real madrid and man U who are 4.5/5 teams. my question is, if i am skilled enough in the game, will i still be able to hold my own with an mls team, or will i be totally out classed speed wise, accuracy wise, etc.? the reason im leaning towards a u.s. team, is because well, to see that D.C. United or something is at the top of a list of top european teams....well that just makes me smile!

i dont care what you think of mls or u.s. soccer in general, i just want to know if it is video game speaking...possible to win with a 3/5 team. have any of you done it with crappy european teams up against really good european teams? thanks for any advice you can give.

thats possible...but they are only a slight step above as a 3.5/5 team. and i would rather stick to clubs.

If you are skilled enough, I don't see why it would make a HUGE difference.

The real difference will come into play when you are playing with someone of equal skill. That is when the component factors of your team come into play and be quite noticable.

Overall I think you'll become a much better player if you have to cope with below par players, so be patriotic (to your club) and run with an MLS club.

Always nice to see people staying fresh, instead of always seeing the greats being used anyway. :)

hey thanks man. that was a great reply. great advice. i always liked taking the crappier teams and bringing them to greatness...which in turn made me a better player. even if i do lose...at least ill have the old "hey i only lost cuz you got the best team!" ha, my little brother always used to pull that one on me. thanks again.

there is nothing better then being the underdog team in a league, it gives you a little more to prove and makes it more fun.
