[pes5 tactics request] crowded area

Hey all. I am playing the game now on the lowest level (exhibition games). It seems to go well for a beginner but I stumble on the same thing quite often:

I am a slow "builder" so often I encounter a big crowd in the penalty area. I don't know how to continue from there without constantly giving crosses. What are my other options to get a decent shot from within the 16 meter area please?

I've added two screenies (hi res) so you can see the typical environment I am working in :).

P.S.

The "shot meter" is to the max real fast. After 0.1 seconds it is a 100%. Is there a setting to decrease the shotpower speed? I have the manual so if you know on which page it is then feel free to post that otherwise.

Well u need 6 months of practise and on 6* stars i have scored some long rangers with the other 11 pricks behind the ball but u need a lot of practice cause im pretty good so u dont do it from the first day!

Btw on the first pic u should be trying a shot already! :lui: (C)

i get this alot as i play a slow buildup, either look for a winger or L/RB to go on the touch line, playthrough balls or the best thing i think is keep passing it across the pitch and evetually gaps will form after you open up the defence, may take time but worth it.
Also looking to change the power bar setting as it was possible to on ISS and i think on some PES games

sometimes i encounter the same problem, you need to be faster to be able to unbalance the defensa, maybe try playing the ball to the other wing, or pass the ball to the back, and keep trying to find a space

Alot of times if you can hold the ball up and play it all the way across the top of the box with passing or make a quick dribble with an outside midfielder, some space will open up to pass to the feet of a forward in the box with a defender on his back. Pass it to him and use the control dribble (R2 on PS2) to "roll" off of him and then aim for the corners.

After what I saw from the first screen. A useful thing to do is to have your striker to hold the ball...and pass...as he looks like he is before the defensive line. Play in the middle, let him hold a bit...it will open some gaps for sure. Pass again to the middle and try a shot...or just play to the wings...

But yeah it is very normal teams do that...once I played Real Madrid against Cadiz 6 stars and I barely won...1-0, actually the goal was from a free-kick. (BECKHAM :rockman:) . I had many shots...and 2 of them were against the bar...they had 1 or 2...but their defensive line was really...damn...so good.

I really remember this game as it was my first game in 6 stars...

It is not always a good thing to pass the ball around fast...sometimes u can pass it forward to an attacker...shield it...let one or may be two other defenders come to u...now there should be open space for a chance...this game is so good u need to CREATE and to make the RIGHT DECISION! :lui:

Over and out from space...

valmont if u facing a team with a lot of defense at their box is better u play counter with 2 wing forward.. or u play ur build up at the middle of the field so u can drag some of their player out of the box..

i am playing chelsea formation where there is 2 WF and CF that have post player ability and good header so when i break with WF i can get crosses in or i can pass to CF and use the body to hold the defender to wait for my midfield or if possible give a quick turn to pass the defender.. but most probably i will get a FK near PK box because player will tend to foul me when i am doing that... btw i modified the formation a bit so i get a lot of player in the midfield =) it might work for u too because ARSENAL got reyes and ljunberg which is fast runner to be winger and the godlike henry as CF but not sure whether u can find 5 quality defending player or not because for CHELSEA i can use makelele, geremi, ferreira, del horno for my DM terry, cavalho, gallas for my DC btw i still think crespo is better than drogba in the game haha..

in that situation, from both screen shots, pires looks like your hot option, in the 1st pic id give to pires and if fabregas opened up pass of and shot with him, if he didnt, turn with pires and shot with him, and with the 2nd pic you should put a through ball on for pires then jsut give a cross a go, but as all arsenal fans know that reyes and henry wont score you the header so just hope gilberto is there. with the power bar you are proberly used to playing FIFA just tap shoot for like half a second and your usally got a good shot, just use training alot to pratice it

hope you have fun :)

Henry and Reyes (the default arsenal forwards) are not very strong and are easily shoved off the ball by defenders. So are probably not suited to this style of play (neither are arsenal as whole).

I would play bergkamp and Van Persie up front who are a bit stronger and would suit the style of play you describe better.

you have too many players at the front man. No wonder the area is crowded, the opposition will man mark your players.
Try to play with less in the front and more midfielders that hang in midfield.

First screenie, you can do a 1-2 pass. The player played the ball to, will hold the ball up till the player(Emerson) standing in the "D" moves towards him. Then play the ball back to ljunberg.
Ljunberg also can have a go from long range but you need to develop the instinct on how much of the gauge before the button is released.

2nd screenie: Ljunberg can pass to Gilberto Silva. Then Silva passes back to Ljunberg. and then to pires. (observe the offside trap) Then use the double tap cross to Henry. Or even the triple tap cross but make sure you cut in abit into the box.

You guys rock. I am going to study this as soon as I have more spare time. Right now time is not on my side.

Quick passes open up any defense. Wether it be with one-two's or jsut quick combination plays.

Not always...
quick passes tend to be intercepted...there is no golden rule...LIKE IN REAL SOCCER! :lui:

Yup. Anyway, I found out that with 2 strikers in line, and 1 play-maker behind, against crowded areas, doing 1-2 passing can be very effective. Just tried it, and the defensive line opens up a bit. I also ordered a left-back to advance freely into attack. The defensive line was concentrated in the middle after the 1-2 and forgot the wings...there goes A.Cole into the box lol! I actually won a penalty by doing this...and scored.

Against crowded areas it is best to try to play in the middle and you will surely see a left/right-back running around the wing...full of space to run.

Man...so many differents methods... :jambo:

you're facing Juve in the screen... it's not you, it's just that their 8-0-2 formation can be a bit annoying sometimes (H)

Yeah, it would only work if the team has good players. For instance, watching man utd beat up on Charlton yesterday.

Anyhow, its not always, just like you said. But its worth a try.
