you have to move that file into the mainfolder where your pes5 demo is installed. e.g. C:\Demos\PES5..

I agree on the collision detection when hitting a ball. It goes worse each year it seems. Now you can clearly see that there is no contact with the ball when a player shoots or when the goalie saves with his hands. Why i konami ******* good things up :kader:
And i agree with someone said passes seem to go their own direction, it happened in pes4 at times, but now in pes5 it happens too much. :kader:

I like the game a lot, i think its much better than the older versions, and graphically i like it too because they don't use all the RAM memory like the older ones.

This game is another good one from Konami. :jambo:

I like this game.I guess this will be in my cupboard of soccer games this year along with fifa 06.

All i want to know is that is there a 6 star like last year to unlock as i find it easy on the 5 star.

One of the unwritten rules is <<Pay attention to what the other is saying>>.Now like a good boy go and see what i consider best soccer game in the previous posts or generally from my post in this forum ;) .It seems nowadays that everyone who doesn't like the new installment of PES makes him a Fifa fanboy.Simply LOL,hahahahahahahahaha way to go mate :rockman: :clapwap:

Oh and about the bashing.I'm bashing it cause i see one of my favourite series being f*cked up.I've posted the videos and the screenshots.Let the PES return to it's roots, where collision detection and movement was perfect, where you were controlling 100% the players, with the simulation feeling that those versions had.Simple as that.

And where did I say that the collisions were great? Because if I remember correctly, I wasn't one of those people.

Here is the BUG of PES5,you can see it clearly.Head over to http://www.trance.gr/~john2/ and download the PES5 BUG.avi .The ball is coming to Henry and i'm pressing the arrows to get the player there and what is happening??????He is standing still. Now here is your "perfect" new Pro Evolution Soccer.I still think that Pro Evolution Soccer 3 is better and i gave you plenty of reasons and videos.
I agree with you. This is not what it should be.
But take into consideration that this is only a demo. There is another bug, where the game crashes after an injury.
I think you should look at the greater picture, how the game is as a whole.
Hard to tell from a demo, I agree, but at least you can get an impression how the game will be. Especially if you play it a lot.
Of course it is a bit silly if you compare this with PES 3, still saying that one is better. You know that! :)
What is your background about football? Do you play football and do you play it on a high level? I don't anymore as my age is well in the fourties :) I can assure you though, that football-wise this is a VERY good simulation of real football (FIFA does not come even close, also not with the newest version).
The new PES 5 understands all kind of tactics better than all versions of PES before. For instance manmarking has greatly improved and the marker does what a marker will do in real life. The nice thing is that the intensity of marking works as well, meaning that if the attacker walks away well out of the zone of the defender, he will act as you ordered: He follows him when marking is aggressive and he lets him go if the marking is normal. Also covering works great in conjunction with man-marking. The covering player helps the marker is he's in trouble and else he fills the gap close to the marker. In what game did you see things like this? It just shows the sheer class of the game. Of course, it is only an example, but it tells a story!
It tells something else than incidental futulities like a collision detection for which you need a big looking glass :D

Konami should improve on the "advantage" rule: sometimes I get fouled and instead of letting play go on, a foul is called which ruins the momentum

Funnily enough, I see that happen sometimes when I got to watch football matches. They need to sort that out there as well :)

I have ben a pes/iss fan since the very first version on SNES(i did play fifa for a while(98 till 99).And as usual a good(not perfect)job of konami on their newest version.i'm glad that they have slowed the game down abit as its is true that in the previous version the dribbling was a little bit too easy(even with less dribbling players you were able to make you opposing players defending a nightmare).people may find the players slow when it comes down too dribbling,controls,... and so on but do bear in mind that like every new version, practice makes perfect!
a really positive point (especially for me as is crucial in during my gaming)is the controls players make after a lobbed pass.i use the lobbed pass(L1 + triangle) a lot and in the previous version the control of the player on the ball after the pass wasnt that well(a lot of slow and poor controls even if you with good attackers)now this seems to have been fixed and is much closer to realty.
the game to me has been improved.the game is much more "take your time and think" than "dribble here, pass their and shoot".... though :jambo: it is true that after all these yars konami have still not got the decor, music, commentary, rosters and licensing richt! :nape: ...ok,for me it may not be a problem as i do enjoy the editing but it is annoying that they have still not solved these eternal problems after all these years!
but still,Pes5 is the closest game too realty, and blending this REAL football game with an edit here en their and you get the BEST football game!fifa has done some good progress but they are still behind.
well done konami and cant wait for the full version and the next versions!!
ps:yeah how their they put valencia instead of barca(especialy after the crappy year valencia did in comparison to the good year that barca didi!à,its an insult!!! :kader:

At the start ISS was a football fans game, now they're just like Fifa, making a few small but noticeable improvements in each verison to keep you coming back for more.

It's a good game but it's the same game as pes3, with a few tweaks. I'd download it, but as an owner or pes 4 I doubt i'd pay for it.

FANBOY!!!

Just finished playing PES5, at least 10 different games... It annoys the hell out of me that automatic sidestep, it makes the physics seem to unreal, and somehow, the ball physics got worse this year. You can see the ball curving too frequently to either side and it looks as if there's wind pushing it away or something.

I love the player animations though, the graphics are really improving, faces are awesome, so are kits and hair..., except that the field itself still needs improvement graphically...

Sound is still blahhh...

Gameplay is still lovely despite some of the flaws I pointed out above... There seems to be a lot more control over what kind of shots you can take and just a slight timing or pressure difference will destroy a potentially good run... That rocks!!

I can't give it a 10 'cause I don't think it deserves that, specifically for too few world leagues and teams (even without licenses), sound effects, some still unreal physics on gameplay...

I'll say it deserves an 8.5/10, but I would probably raise it up half a point in the future...

Great game...

@SlowSilver : Read your post. You clearly thought i was a Fifa fanboy. As i've stated and before in this thread that i'm not i said the "unwritten rule" for that part. Not that you said that the collisions were perfect (but it was mentioned from other people that there are better collisions in this new version. The funny thing is that it seems that the PSX WE games had better collisions.......but that's another story).

Ok, PES5 demo...

Love the new flowing feel to the game. Previous iterations of PES (especially on PC, maybe just because I still use a keyboard) have seemed a little stop start, not saying that FIFA was in an way better in this respect either. The game now dictates that you need to follow the runs of your fellow players much more closely which actually makes the game very difficult to play (this is a good thing).

I thought when I picked up the new PES demo that I'd score 3 per game just as I was in PES4 - how wrong was I. Still very inconcistent, sometime 0-0, sometime 0-1, sometimes 3-1 - and I'm loving it. I was hoping for something difficult and I got it!

Love the new animations on the players ... the passing system is annoyingly well thought out! Scored some really nice close range Arsenal-esque goals with flowing moves and tap in finishes. Shooting on the other hand is something I've still not got figured out. Scored some great headed goals and volleys from crosses, but rangey shooting is still a distant dream.

All in all I'm loving the new PES. Tackling seems much tighter, more physical (although refs are less forgiving). Can't wait to get the full version on PS2 and PC and get editing. Sponsor editing looks nice and easy now.

For the record, I really enjoyed the FIFA06 demo too. Seems more difficult this time, free kicks are better, long passing is awesome. The only thing I didn't like about it are the headers. Not to say you can't score them, but the animations look a bit weak and samey. I doubt I'll buy the full version, but I hope one of my mates will so I can get some playing time in!

Those who know me know, that I haven't been the biggest fan of PES games in the past. As a matter of fact, I thought PES4 pretty much sucked a$$. And PES3 wasn't that great either IMO.

But this one... I have to flat out say: Konami nailed it. Hands down. People speak of "small changes"... I don't know what they are playing, but I am playing a game that feels considerably different from earlier versions. Ball physics, shooting (yes, finally a version where shooting feels like SHOOTING), speed, animations -- you name it. The flow of the game is so spot on. Finally i feel in control of my actions (well, most of the times.. sometimes the x-pass doesn't go where it is supposed to, but it feels like a natural thing) and when the CPU scores I don't feel cheated anymore, whereas in PES4 every goal I conceded somehow felt like a result of an ugly script. It seems Konami improved on the right things and toned down the annoying parts. Could they have listened to the complaints after all?

Anyway. I'd say this is a massive step forward. There are still annoyances (how could there ever be a PES game without?), like the over-sensitive referees, but unlike in PES3 or 4 they don't bother me (yet), because the rest is so good.

it's how it should have been all along. I am believer again.

Yes, PES is a game what needs to be getting used to :)
About the passing: If there are serveral players you pass to, the ball will go to the place the passer is facing at, which is not the same as passing in the direction you aim at with your controller! Keep an eye on the passer and look where he is facing at. The same is true for the low and high trough-pass, but these are even harder because you can measure the speed as well and you do not aiming to a player, but an area. If you want the ball going to the place the controller is directed, you should use the right analog stick, but that is even harder to control :)

I love how the CPU finally has problems with passing as well. Gone the pixel-perfect 100% accuracy of older versions. I've been playing a couple of 5 star games against Real, and even on that level there were quite a number of stray passes (I'd say a realistic number). Even good ol Zidane pulled one or the other. Seems Konami has "humanized" the CPU after all.

I don't mind the more difficult passing system at all. This is how it should be. In earlier PES games a blind X-pass automatically found a receiver. Now you have to really pay attention where to play it to.

Yeah i really understand what your saying mate, i've been playing football for 7 years for a club and you need to understand and read the game well to be able to enjoy this game, as i know for a fact that sum of my mates won't enjoy it.

LOL Simakperrce, that indeed is not like you. I answered your PM already about the game :)

I find it somthing amazing that people say this is only a small change compared to PES 4 or even PES 3. The difference is really HUGE!

--> John2GR, what is your reaction on my last post, directed to you? Post 126.
I am curious about it :)

Maybe they should begin by sorting it out in PES5, then who knows...maybe the FIFA federation will get an idea ;)
