yupz.
I supported fifa since world cup 1998 but i have to admit that PES3 is much more realistic.
In addition, Gameplay wise PES3 is more user friendly where u can pass the ball around with ease. If u know soccer, u know how to play. If dun want it to be so user friendly ,u can also try a combo of buttons so that the player can perfrom 1-2, drag the ball etc. We have only seen that in world cup 1998 of EA sports.
If u know soccer, u still have to play around 3 matches to get a feel of FIFA, so which has better gameplay?

"If you want realism then FIFA wins slightly"

Is realism that i score a goal from 30m four times in a row ????

I have respect for people who honestly have a realistic look at the pro's and cons of both sides of the argument, so respect to thread starter. However, there are far too may people who completely put down one game and say the other is god, I just switch of. Clearly there are things going for both games. However, I must say as someone who plays football regular (and I really dont want to hear from people who say a computer game cant give some sort of feelling of really playing, I dont accept that), BOTH fall short for me. I am particularly disapointed in the Fifa game though. I have played all their games and think if the best bits were kept together in one game that could be it. But every year they drop the good bits from last year and I wonder if they do it on purpose to keep you spending. We could really do with some decent competition on the PC so horaay to Konomi wossanames. This HOPEFULLY will kick EA the in backside. When wossanames add online or proper multiplayer to their games it could be the death knell, purely because they (EA) have had long enough but milked the monaaaay.

I dont care, just give me the complete game, whoever.

but FIFA's gameplay has always been horrendous...they have left bits out and put more bits in and whatever, but the core of the game has remained rotten and barely playable...in every fifa since 98 (98 was also a bad game)

Well I dont agree with you that all those games where unplayable, and I'm sure others wont. But your entitled to the opinion as I am. I had months of absolute blissfull fun networking at a company I worked for 3 years ago, I think it was Fifa 2000 at the time. I had thought 2001 improved because you had to time your shots instead of press a button for computer to shoot for you and other things, though my work colleagues didnt like it. And after that there has been as u say removal of things that worked and also big backward steps. However, unplayable is very sweeping and shows where your coming from.

sorry man, even before I knew an alternative extisted, I despised FIFA (bought every one though), I watch a lot of football, I played for 3 teams in my teens and loved the sport. I could never get any sort of enjoyment out of FIFA (only FIFA 96 when I was a kid)...I knew it wasn't football. I went through an entire season and of my 70 goals scored, only 2 players scored them (FIFA99), I couldn't score with a midfielder playing normally, I'd have to adjust and play unrealistic footy, resist the 100% sweetspot and try to pass off so my midfield could score...hardly happened. The game was fundamentally flawed, and I played every release for 2 weeks, won everything, beat the computer 6-2 every game and despised EA for their idiotic programming (Viduka with long blond hair, statistics WAY off, no research done, exactly the same player heights, no passing game, many sweetspots, unrealistic gameplay, zombie player models, dark and demonic faces, Huge HEADS, narrow shoulders, huge thighs etc. etc. etc.)

I hated this game....then I hired out something called ISS pro 98, didn't like it at first, but at least Croatia's checkered jersey was in there (FIFA didn't have this until 2001 !), played it and as an avid football fan old enough to appreciate the intricacies of football and the beauty of our game, I noticed that this was what I was aching for for 3 years. The more I played, the more amazed I was. None of my friends had even heard of it, now I have at least 10 good mates that laugh at every fifa that comes out (all football fans too)

It's unplayable man, if you're serious about your football, and you love the game enough to respect it's beauty, frustration and jubilation, PES3 is the closest thing tp recreating it. The fun, the joy, the despair, the realism, the football ! FIFA is years behind, many many years...it's really unfair to compare one of the best sports games ever made to a below mediocre game like FIFA204...PES3 wins hands down in nearly every category, and when you combine them the differences are immense.

It's unplayable for me, and many a level headed, mature, football fan who has actually played both (99% of PES3 fans have, 10% of FIFA have) agrees with me...fully !

I know how cro feels. My friends and I just laugh off any FIFA we see... Although we do play it sometimes for multiplayer fun. But trust me, it's nowhere near football

Forgot to add that we only play it sometimes when we get bored of games like Warcraft and CS in LAN centres, but if any of us has a PS2, it's WE7/PES3

Multiplayer on WE7 is the best gaming experience I've ever had, ever ! I got a PS2 just for WE6 a few years back, nothing else....and it's worth every penny.

I agree with some things you say cro, and there are many I dont agree with. As I have said many times before, you are entitled to your opinion as I am mine. I dont feel the need to change everyone elses view and opinions as I believe they are entitled to theirs.

I love PES 3.
I think PES fans try to help FIFA fans so they can 'see the light' , but sometimes it's frustrating when they never get it :D

Oh well, at the end of the day everyone have their own opinion....

maybe we're too pushy when it comes to that, but so many FIFA fans have never tried the alternative...I wish I had someone telling me, even pushing me to try a more realistic game, I would be forever thankful.

Yeah.... same here

I'm having a hard time with my friends here in Mozambique, trying to show them the "light".... but I'll suceed. For the very least, I've already convinced one of them....

What I think is that most ppl just don't switch games 'coz of convenience or even complacency..... they're so used to FIFA, that it's hard for them to juss switch games like dat....

I remember for me, it took some time also to accept the fact that FIFA isn't better than PES.... "But now I see the suuunn.... now I see iiiiiiitt...."
