PES3 physics vs Euro Physics (the real thing)

I haven't been playing PES3 much lately, but with the wonderful Euro matches I thought I give it a fresh try and did a quick 5 star tournament...

Honestly, I can't believe how people did claim a while ago that the ball physics in PES3 are "perfect". It seems impossible to play the sort of quick, fast paced, hard-passing football that we've seen in many games of the tournament, and which has become the current style.

The reason is IMO that the ball (especially on the ground) behaves to cumbersome..

I've patched up the short and long passing strength of all players by 30 (!), but the ball on the ground still moves like a bag filled with wet sand, in the air it takes ages to come back down. Crosses tend to be way too floaty and headers are awful... seldomly a header where your player smashes the ball home like Charisteas vs France

A shot like Rui Costa's 2-1 vs England (a dry smasher without visible build up) seems not possible at all. I've yet to have a strong shot from outside the box that stays somewhat low.. yes, i can keep the ball low, but it then moves like it has arthritis...

Or try to smash the ball over the cross-bar like Beckham... granted, I've had penalties going over the goal, but again, they floated like a sissy...

Don't want to speak bad about the game, since it has given me a lot of pleasure, and maybe it's because I haven't played in a while, but I think the whole passing could use some speed and strength.... i mean, i am playing with world class players on level 5..

what do you think?

BYE BYE FIFA.

Agreed mate. Its the best game we got at the moment though. Although people criticise the Fifa series for bugs (and boy are they right) that have been in the game since its conception, and guess what? PES series is the same. All yer points i agree with man.

Roll on PE4, lets hope they really push things forward.

The game isn't perfect...these errors you said, are errors that will sure be corrected in PES4.

But I parcially disagree with you in your opinion about fast pace game.

I play normally as Portugal and I base my game in fast passes, one-twos, dribble, pressure...and it works really well. It is a fast pace type of playing, it works really well...in some games, I dominate all the time...and I play on 5 stars.

Sometimes, practice makes the perfect...

how da hell do u guys play on 5 stars. ill give it a try in a few minutes, but i play on 3 stars and i cant get FARTHER THEN SEMI FINALS!!!!! once i was eliminated early stages in first round too!!! my team is FRANCE!!!!

a question....... HOW do you manage to intercept the ball, everytime i try (pressing x to try n get it in ps2, or O but the ref always calls a foul) it doesnt really do a good interception...

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Are you kidding me!!!!!!!! the game is Extremely fast. If you play WE6 or Fifa2004 you will get scared of the slow ass gameplay they have.

Yea go to practice mode and PRACTICE defending. THats why training is part of the game kid:crazyboy:

Yup i agree with Jumbo. You guys should get WE7IJ. It is the latest WE version right now. There some things that PES3 doesn't have.

I prefer PES3 passing system, cause they looks more realistic.
In We7 I (pc) the passes become more faster and accurate, kinda ping-pong.

First of all: I am not a kid and I don't need any patronizing.

Secondly: what has it got to do with practice, when I am saying that the ball is too slow/floaty/cumbersome? And what has defending got to do with it?

Thirdly: what has FIFA to do with the post i made?

Watch the promo videos for WE7IJ. Some new cool types of shots were introduced.

Here, watch this:

Just get WE7IJ. :D :rockman: :hump: :mrpimp: (H) :p ;) :D

that first one is indeed quite cool...

on the second one, though, that pass that goes to Vieri ... that's excactly what i mean... a slow, bouncing, lame ass pass instead of a fast, flat one as we see it so often these days...

but thanks for the links... it's time for PES4 to come around...

The one thing about WE7i ball physics that really irks me is on each pass/low shot, the ball has a very distinct first bounce, and it rally slows the ball down

anyone who watches and plays football knows that the ball when passed well, glides along the grass.....
