Hi friends! This morning I was looking at an important italian newspaper that was saying PES3 will be out in Italy on the 13th of november for pc and it said the pc version wil be released on dvd!
I haven't got a dvd in my computer yet! :(
Anyone knows if PES will be on PC cd rom or PC dvd?

yep very very big mistake from konami, i know ppl should have DVD drives these days but that isnt the point, many do not and they are instantly cutting these ppl out of their profits. It also encourages ppl to get the game from 'alternate means'. I personally do not have a dvd drive on this PC, but I've got 1 on another PC in same house, lets hope they dont make a 3rd mistake and require the dvd to be in the drive when playing.

Of course you need the DVD in to play, even FIFA requires the CD/DVD in to play. It being on a DVD means there's gonna be some great quality on there, in terms of player faces etc. That aint a mistake at all, needing the DVD in to play

You could see it as a bad move by Konami, on the other hand you could see the positive side and realise that a lot more data can be stored on a DVD than a CD-Rom, meaning better performance.
It'll be a matter of time as to whether it leads to a downfall in possible sales of PES3.
I do have a DVD Player in my PC so I don't mind but obviously quite a few people don't.

the dvd is for the commentary mainly, so you will need it unless it copies from the dvd on install. seems a bit stupid to me, dvd drives were something you bought a couple of years ago, at the moment i don;t see the need as most people will have a dvd player. i've only got one because i didn't have a dvd player and it was the cheap option at the time, it isn't really anymore. i'd save your money up and get a dvd burner instead, would be better than a player you hardly use.

I don't understand. Who has a PC that is capable of running this game properly (and i don't mean in 640x480 with all detail turned off), yet doesn't have a DVD drive?? That simply doesn't make sense. It's like having a Porsche with bicycle wheels on it.

i think its a good idea, why havent u got a dvd drive on your pc yet? they were standard as of like 3 years ago or so!

games should start coming on DVD's and will have to in the near future in order to provide the level of detail/textures etc that everyone expects, and i for one cant be bothered having games with like 3-4 discs cos its a lot of effort, and probably not much cheaper than a single dvd so long as dvd prices keep on falling

DVD drives are pretty cheap these days (I paid £200 for mine... but that was in a whole other world) and the same goes for the PC version of PES3. May I suggest that you buy a dvd drive?

Anyway I would not worry too much. Gamers without a dvd drive could just buy the game, copy the contents of the dvd to their harddrive if they have a mate with at dvd drive (and who doesn't?), and install the game from the harddrive. The game will ask for the dvd when starting up but this issue will definitely be fixed on the warez scene hours after the release. Try 'gamecopyworld' for a NO-CD/DVD patch... that is entirely legal as long a you buy the game...

But please BUY THE GAME and show Konami your money!!!

I hope flt or dev will find a way to rip this **** ;\

Haa, nice one banana! When I first read that I was nervous, but then I saw I had it so whatever. Sorry for you guys who don't have it, but I know they aren't that expensive. My girlfriend is getting one installed for $40, but it is her cousin. I can't see it being more than $100. Good luck fellows!

I'm only 15 years old, I have enough pressure from my school.
so I can't get a job at the moment.
now it's intensive work for 3 years, and then i'll work for the army
with computers.
meantime, I wanna play PES!!!! ;[

It is a mistake by Konami becuase they should release a DVD version AND a CD version. I have a DVD drive so I don't mind but making the game ONLY on DVD is a mistake.

Besides that I have a $300 5-disc Sony DVD player that I use for movies on a 35" TV. I don't even use my stupid DVD drive.

That's very unlikely. When have you seen anything like that before? Maybe there has been some such offer, but it's not going to happen with PES.

konami are rlsing it on dvd for piracy issues i would say
because pes and pes2 were on dvd yet there was no need they were just dummy files.so im pretty sure when one of the groups rlses it there will be a cd rip aswell there is one for silent hill 3
so dont stress.

On the official pes3 site on the features section it says that pc version ships to cd-rom.
