Konami today revealed that Pro Evolution Soccer 2 will be heading to European shores sooner than you think.

KCET confirmed to us at Evo-Web that the European version of Winning Eleven 6, and the successor to Pro Evolution Soccer is set for a tentative September release.

Featuring the most advanced gameplay ever, an updated graphics engine and a great new soundtrack it will be the only football game to own when it is released over here

My guess is there won't be an official press release for a while so don't hold your breath.

i hope that we can choose 32/32 teams in a custom cup and play human vs. cpu in PES2.
also i want more national teams, especially more african teams and arabian so that we can play something like a world cup qualification!

Any idea as to the disk format (DVD/CD)? I'm guessing DVD if there are multiple commentary options, but who knows how it's going to play out.

Techies: If it is on DVD and you're using a version 5 (or above) ntsc ps2 like myself, will it be possible to import PES2, rip it down to an appropriate size, and patch the ripped version over to ntsc? (P.S. This is not a request for warez information.)

Me too, and all the smaller European Nations. Somehow, I think there is more chance of EA making a good FIFA game than KCET giving us a whole pile of extra teams in PES2.
