PES 2008 demo impression

Cons: Cheesy 1980's guitar rock, amateurish presentation, dated graphics, unrealistic player movement (gravity and momentum defying), unrealistic speed, overall too arcady for many, not next gen material, nowhere near. Half Life 2 looks way way better on the 360 than this and HL2 is quite old.

Pros: Players resemblance (although cartoony, many of the top players are modeled quite nice), gameplay pretty fun (not in a realistic way though).

Coming from playing Fifa 08 on the 360 and looking and playing PES 2008, it's like day and night. PES pales in many areas. I absolutely do not see the big deal in PES this year. Needless to say I erased it from my 360 hd. Don't get me wrong, it looks like afun arcade game but with fifa as a choice, it's a no go.

After alot of hours of playing the demo I have to admit, WOW! this game is fun as hell and the closeups look fantastic, I love where the goal keeper moves really quick and has fantastic reflexes, new animation, kleats sticking out everywhere, just fun, fun, fun! many times I was just yelling, Wauuuuuuuuu!!!
BUT this game still is not next gen nor is it a real simulation of the game alot more on the arcade side, the graphics are a high res XBOX game, the gameplay even on the toughest level was too easy for me and I was still making too many long runs and keeping the ball and I didn't get the cohesiveness among my team mates, too mant times my players were confusing and not doing hwat they were suppose to do.

All in all though I loved what I saw and am very excited knowing the demo was 40% done of the finished product can't wait to get it.

OK, I need to correct som ething. The close up faces on PES have to be the best looking out of any sports title, easily. But, why does it look so dated when viewed through wide camera angles? It's as if the faces don't match the overall game. I don't like the speed of the game either, not after playing fifa 08.

best looking???? hmmmmm?....EA NHL does a pretty great job and they are fefinitely next gen, so does MLB 2K7 AND TO BE HONEST NFL 2K on the current gen looks the same as PES, hi-res cutouts.

It looks dated because it is still basically a PS2 port with hi res graphics. PES should be ashamed of themselves trying to sell this to us for $59.99

faces look much better than fifa. but that's about it. nhl faces look great. i played it.
