Penalty Kicks

Anyone else having trouble with these? It is hard enough to get the ref to actually call an obvious one, but sometimes this is silly.
If I kick it anywhere except down the middle, there is about a 60% chance of it not even being on goal. Then you kick it down the middle and the CPU always manages to punch it just out of the reach of the kicker. Anyone else have this problem and if no got any tips?

Yep, when I get a penalty against the CPU, I don't get my hopes up at all... I'd say that 80% of the time, either my player misses the goal, or the CPU keeper saves it. It's anoying really.

Well weird, I actually score almost every one of them.

Maybe there's a trick in scoring penalties that most people aren't aware of?

I wish on penaltys you could choose the pace you shoot at..its only ever at one pace which isnt real. probably score 70% of the time though!!

when I play with friends, we both at least miss one penalty thanks to the horrible shooting. you shoot and just miss the target.
most of the times penalties are just decided because of this

Fifa's shooting system is much better on this, if you fill the bar more than you should (into the red zone) you miss the target, but if you don't you will never miss
however Fifa's system doesn't make a difference between PK's shot up or down. you can shoot up-right and if the other player tries saving down-right he will save it

Just scored both penalties in a game I won 5-0 6 stars...biggest win so far in the difficulty...maybe I am just lucky...lol.

The misses are completely random. I played with my mate, match went into penalties. Both of us used some big clubs or countries(forgot) but I missed 5 of my penalties with one saved by him. And he scored only 1 of his penalties with 3 missed and 1 saved by me. :boohoo:

Penaltys depend on players shooting abilities.
The chance of missing the goal is lower when aiming at the lower right or left corner. The downside of that is that the keeper has a better chance to parry those shots.

btw shooting at the middle of the goal has even lower chances of being off target, but the chance for the keeper getting it are much higher.

go to 5 stars, 6 stars is a joke - defensive players pressure incredibly too much leaving gaps open for almost every oppurtunity with one touch passing. 5 stars isn't as extreme but gets like that when the AI is losing.

It's vice versa for me. I tend to always shoot in top corner or at least above the ground. Low penalties are saved by cpu keeper or go wide much more often for me even with palyers who has ''penalty perk'' that's why I'm only risking with low shots when another goal is not that important.

Penalties absolutely suck, there's no trick to them..

Yes, I think they should diversify the penalty taking process and give more control to the player just like with free kick system which is flawless and success in those totally depends on your skill.
The power bar is needed surely.

Good call. I used to do this all the time, but it seems that the computer has started to save all of these in my most recent season.

I just bury it in the top right corner usually. Sometimes in the middle aswell, always the powerful shots, i find the way the players kick the ball kinda fancy.

I don't think so. 6 stars is really hard. Their defense really does a good job.

Well I just failed one in a crucial time when it was 0-0 at 75 min. Ball at the crossbar. Could be fatal, but I made my way through and scored one at 84 min...

My guess after this is that it is completely random...
