PC V XBOX (not a debate)

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me here. I currently own an XBOX and need to buy a PC. The question is do I get one just for word excel etc or go that little bit further and go back to PC gaming.

i play FIFA quite a lot and was just wondering will it look much better on my 46" Sony Bravia compared to the XBOX? Personally I think it looks a little washy on the XBOX

Anyway system Ive seen at scan is

i5 2500K , N Vidia 560 Ti , 1 Gig ready built for 750..Worth it? I'll probably buy battlefield too as apparently its above recommended specs but i know it wont max out

My Xbox has been packed away in the closet for over a year ever since I got a PC that can play games. And I ain't ever going back to console gaming. Not with the superior graphics, mods, add-on campaigns, and tweaking and editing capabilities that are possible with the PC versions of games. Plus the games themselves for the PC are usually 25-30% cheaper than the console version, which makes zero sense but hey I'm not complaining!

It makes total sense. Licensing fees for consoles.

not always true as game get designed you eventually have to upgrade pc hardware which is expensive, so the 20$s you save buying a pc game will be spent at some point in time anyway.

its all the same really.

i have a pc, 360 & ps3 & all i play on pc is fifa & call of duty 4.
the rest of the games i play, madden & nhl arent released on pc.

Not the way I see it. I upgrade my laptop every 2-3 years because I spend a lot of time editing videos and music, and following sports and watching movies (I have no TV). So having a PC that can play the latest games is just part of it for me. I don't consider it a separate gaming expense, at all. I see it as a bonus that I have the hardware to play these games, because I would have bought the PC anyway for my personal use.

I can tell you as someone who has both the game for pc and xbox that if you have a good video card(I only have a Nvidia 8800 Gt ddr3 which is outdated) and play on a Sony bravia(same tv I have) you can make the game look much better on pc than on xbox and the game seems to respond faster as well. Just my opinion but most pc games look better on my pc than on my xbox but like Reg c said its a matter of what you play since some games are not released on pc.
