I'm building a new computer and since WE7 is likely to be what taxes my system the most, I was wondering what people recomend for the best WE7 experience?

2000 or XP?
p4 or athlon64?
geforce4 or raedon?

The first two don't really make a difference but I would choose a Radeon (9600XT or 9800) over a GF4. I'm sure the Athlon64 is impressive but it wouldn't be a wise purchase right now since a new socket will be introduced in the near future. Socket 754 (the current Athlon64 platform) will be obsolete in no time at all.

Well, 2000 is pretty much dead in the water for support patches related to improving graphical performance for games so I'd install XP.

Go for the P4 as Direct X is optimized for it.

Forget GeForce 4, you need at least an FX5200 and even that pretty much sucks. Nothing less than a Radeon 9200 either.

go with AMD not intel!

they're cheaper, more reliable and can be faster

A GF4 TI is better than both of the cards you mentioned :)

I think this would be more like a driver thing. Support for 2000 hasn't ended (just Win98SE)-not that I have a problem with XP.
