I currently have Pro evo 3 on PS2 awesome game, first time ive tried Konami and im never playing anything else, but i would like to ask all you experts out there, for Pro evo 4 which do you recommend, the PC , PS2, or XBox?

Ive checked the FAQ and didnt see this question answered, and because i havnt tried it on PC im wondering if it is as good or better than the console versions.

I know all the Xtras you can add to the PC version kits, sponsors etc and im definately considering buying the PC version this year, any suggestions please, thanx guys.:)

The PC version last year was good except for one major thing... slowdown. Unless you had a super computer chances are that you would have slowdown, which would ruin the game dramatically.

Because of this I will be buying the console version. Just because I know it should run well. I have an Xbox so will be getting it for that. But the Xbox/PC versions will be released about a month after the PS2 version. The Xbox version will also have online play so if you're prepared to wait I would say that is the one to get.

The console versions are highly editable. Lots of teams are licenced this year. But this year there's an in depth kit editor so if you have time you can make your own kits (with sponsors and everything) in the game. Also with consoles if you have an X-port you can download patches off the internet and onto your console.

Thanx for your comments guys, well my Pc is pretty good so "slowdown" shouldnt be an issue BUT the only reason i was going to go PC was all the addons you can get, stadium addons, kits, well you know all about it...............:)

Whats this X port for the console?, i havnt heard about this, i run a standard PS2 by the way. Whats involved?

Awesome about the editor, being able to add sponsors etc is a huge plus in game, again thanx guys.:)

Some tools to patch the console`s versions. There`s an explanation about it at the sticky threads above. I don`t really understand that kind of stuffs, too lazy to learn about it, so I got my friend to patch my WE everytime a new patch comes out.

Hans,X-port isn't a tool to patch the console version of the game. It's actually to transfer save files from the memory card of the PS2 to the PC hardrive.

Yes, but you can transfer the option file. That includes all the names and stuff that can be edited on the console I assume, including the badge and kit editors.

So Andrew ole pal, how does this actually work, the X port does what exactly, store info that can be transfered to you HD on PC then you mod the data with certain programmes then back to the X Port and back to the PS2??? is this right mate?.......coz if this is possible then im better off sticking to the PS2 version instead of going with the PC version of PES4 this year, just trying to figure whats the best way to go to maximise the enjoyability of the great game is all, cheers boys. :)

So Sharkman......you reckon PES4 for the PC is best? I have a good comp/graphic card(9700 pro) so no probs there, gamepad etc, and allows me to d/l mods for the game no hassles..........

Is this true? If so id rather the console version, being able to modify the strips and add sponsors etc to get an authentic game happening.............if not theres the X port which im hearing that you can and cant mod the game, and the PC which you definately can...............anyone with the precise info on this all please lay it out right here....cheers:hump

I had a 9600pro and got slowdowns. The rest of my PC is not very good though. It was playable, but it frustrated the hell out of me.

If your console is chipped you can edit the game as much as the pc one as long as you have a dvd burner.

I have not tried it but with the x-port I'm certain you can download option files onto your console. In the past these option files have been used to edit transfers, player names, players stats, player appearance, kits etc. But this year I've seen people use the in game kit editor to create some authentic kits, flags/badges etc. It definitely can be done on the console versions so I assume you will be able to download patches that people create through an x-port.
