Patching/Recording Speeds - Please Help!

I know how to patch the game and put it on disc, but both my programs do not give me a low write speed option.

Both Nero and Alcohol only give me 40x as the option. I need to do it on 4x or so because I want to preserve my PS2's laser. High write speeds make it harder for the laser to read.

Anyone know how to edit the write speeds in either of these two programs? Thanks a lot!

well i hv always used CRDWin.I have the demo so i can only burn at 4x and CANNOT edit the speed.

Although it's a bit slow it's reliable and allows you to make the image and burn it aswell

The ccd file is a cue or bat sheet that is created by default, the main file is in *img format which is compatable when using the Ppf V3 patcher, but when inserting/extracting those *.Afp files all you need to do is to rename the *.img to *.bin and then when completed just rename the file back to *.img so that the ccd cue sheet picks it up when doing the back up to cd.

The sub channel file that you can see in the pic is also done by default by Clone Cd, and consists of any 'Raw" audio/data that is to be found on the original data cd's, but when patching the image you don't have to worry about that file.

To get the best out of Clone Cd you need a Cd Recorder that supports all the functions in the second pic, which most of the newer recorders support anyway, and since using the combo of Clone Cd and in my case the Lite-On recorder, i have NeVeR had a failure when backing up ps2 compact disc cd's when using and prompting in the Sub Channel modes when doing the backup's'.
........................................................................................................

Just as an added word of interest, i did a few checks with two Ps2 Consoles, one has the Magic 3 mod chip and the other one has had the Flip Top conversion worked on it.

The Console with the Magic 3 mod had no problems what so ever when running backups, either first generation backups from an original image or even a 2nd generation backup 'backed' up from a backup as in from a copy . Everything worked 100%..
..............................................................

The Flip Top Console had major problems when trying to run any Second Generation backups, in fact the failure rate was pretty dismal to the tune of 75% .

The solution to this problem, well in the case of the 'Flip Topped' Console in question was to only run/play a backup that was taken from the OriGiNaL Ps2 data cd, as in a first generation copy/backup, and that way there was no problems what so ever. -- Hope it helps -- :)

Clone Cd- Cdr features. Write.

For those of you who are wondering what DAO and SAO mean.

Recorder Supports.
DAO = Disc at once - Say for doing raw images. or on the fly disc to disc.
SAO = Session at once - Single data session or multi session.

Drover, thanks a bunch, BUT:

If I have a we7.bin file or whatever, how do I select in in burning a CD. Only CCD files are available for selection.

How do I create the CCD file that I assume is equivalent to a .cue file? THanks so much!

Clone Cd Only.
......................
The *.ccd file is a cue or bat sheet that is created by the Clone Cd default when you initially read an image from the game Cd to hard drive, so of course with it doing that, you don't have to do any editing or prompting to create it 'cos it is all done for you.

But you can't rename any Clone Cd file to a *.bin file and expect it to run when you prompt in the *.ccd file due to the *.ccd file not being written or configed to accept a *.bin file, you must always rename the said file back to the *.img format.

The *ccd file is the cue or bat file that Clone Cd detects by default when you write a Clone Cd image to a blank Cd, it is this file that detects the *.img and *.sub files, just like Cdrwin detects the cue sheet and then the *.bin image when it kicks in to write an image.
