Make America Great Again

These european brands are weak. My Washington Redskins were worth more than Real Madrid last year by .2 billion dollars and Washington is just a city in the US, and a small one at that. Real Madrid markets across the entire globe. I suggest you bring in more American Owners and they will teach you how to run a sports franchise. The proof is in the numbers. There is only going to be a few soccer teams left in Europe in about 10 years because so many are in debt and badly managed.

Washington isn't "just a city", it's the capital of the nation. And it's not small by any means, the metropolitan area is over 5 million people. Green Bay is "just a city in the US, and a small one at that."

Now 60 more are left. Vice president Ferrano said, if our coaching stuff wants a player we will do everything to sign him. Now, I know that is very hard to sign Ribery, but we haver really good friendship which might be the key on this transfer. Then, if Ribery's transfer won't work, we'll probably buy Cesc for 40 millions and use Iniesta in the left wing.

I'd choose the second option to be fair :D

1) What Shifty said.

2) In fact, Washington has a bigger Metro than Madrid. Madrid has two big teams, and a third decent sized one when you include Getafe.

3) You're out of your mind if you think the Redskins only market to the capital.

4) Is that why Liverpool, previously financially stable, were sent spiraling into debt by their new American owners?

5) Have you SEEN the books of certain MLS, NBA and NHL teams lately? And they're within a bubble that tries hard to protect them from failing. Real Madrid are on their own. In fact, an NHL team is insolvent at the moment.

We have 80 milions to spend this summer. If you add to that 30 milions of Eto'o means 110 milions euros.

You really think Eto'o is worth 30 millions???...he just have 1 more year of contract so i would say 20 or 25 as much.

I grew up there so I know all about it and Washington has become very diverse, many Indian, Korean, and Latino that dont watch American football. Also the Ravens have been around for years now and have won a superbowl and have had one of the best defenses for years. This has taken away from the fan base so basically all the fans come from Northern Va(upper northern VA counties). Much of the North Carolina base was lost when the Panthers came in the league. My point was that The Redskins are not a global brand and these European franchises are so why cant they make as much money as a team that represents one city/diluted metropolitan area.

The redskins do not aggressively market Globally, so I dont understand what you mean.

Good point but there were too many hands in the bucket, Most NFL teams are owned by one Person or a family, not multiple owners.

I know the NHL is in trouble and has been, people dont really care about hockey unless your from the extreme north or Canada, I havent heard about any liquidity problems with the NBA but I am sure they have a few teams that are unstable as any league with that many teams would. As for the MLS, I know attendance is down a bit but I also havent heard of these teams struggling financially. We have been selling players to Europe and have a few tv contracts and most all teams have soccer specific stadiums. The league is expanding to 18 teams within the next 3 years.

First I mean Euros. Don't mix it with pounds.

Second, If Eto'o doesn't worth 30 milions euros, then wtf? Eto'o is already in the third best Barça striker ever. He's one of the 5 best strikers in the world right now too. How can be that he doesn't worth 30 milions euros?

It's true that he has just 1 more year of contract, but that's nothing. Well, next summer he can go free, but Barça won't let it, sign new contract or leave.

Ok, i mixed Euros with pounds... but, i still think 30 millions is too much, i know he worth it but again the matter is he has 1 year left in his contract so many clubs will rather wait another season and get him in a free transfer.

BTW, why Eto'o and Barca started this bad relationship, i tough Eto'o was very happy at Barcelona but since Man Citeh bid it seems he wants to go.

haha so far from the reality. Barça/eto'o divorce starts in 07 with his bull****s in the medias and internal problems with some important players. Guardiola doesnt want someone with unstable character in his squad is a bomb, the club tried to sell eto'o last season but flop, now looks like eto'o finally want to leave.

Real Madrid always buys players who look good, but who don't know absolutely anything about football ...that's exactly why they didn't bought Ribery, because he is ugly :D
