I bet many havent seen this. After reading its fantastic reviews since it got a 22 minute standing OV at Cannes, I had to see it (especially for its incredible trailer).

This movie blew me away and is without a doubt a Masterpiece (one we so rarely get every few years). Maybe the best movie I've ever seen. I cant stress how good this movie was. (every person in the theatre left with their jaws dropped)

Great that someone started a thread about this film. It was a superb, and I really enjoyed it. Although for me it was not as mindblowing as for Mr. Pasion1 here. The movie had a great feeling to it, very magical.

I liked it very much... But having said that I really expected there to be a lot more fantasy elements in the film than there were. It seemed like more of a sub-plot to me and I didn't think the entire war story was really all that interesting. But it was pretty nicely made, looked really good.

I know what you mean, the trailer made it out to be predominantly fantasy, when actually that took very much the side stage. I loved the war story though, kind of like The Wind that Shakes the Barley but without the needless overcomplication.

Have posted lots about it elsewhere which I wont repeat, but it was my fav movie of 2006 (Y)
