I really can't see anyone in the english team that got those super skills like Zidane or Henry, or any of the other european stars. The media in Egland hypes the NT so much.

Not really, we the fans have high expectations of England and the press show this by all the hype which to everyone else makes England seem over-rated

Rooney hasnt played all that often, but he's threw in a few goals when he does.

Beckham is captain, he carried the team through the bloody euro qualifying.

Owen overated?, hatrick against Germany in Munich and at 24 already has 25 goals to his name. Beckham overated, but still world class. Rooney i totally agree. We qualified top of the group as we did in the world cup qualifying to get here, have had two Euro semi finals in the past and been in te top ten of the world rankings for years, so please peple stop disrespecting England, it shows your just jealous haters who just talk out of your arse.

Semis dont mean titles. And the only title England has won was in 66. Owen is overrated (i'm a Liverpool fan for christ sake), just look at his goal tally this season, and count how many penalties he missed plus the sitters. He thinks he's too good for us. His WC 2002 performance wasnt anything brilliant (scored one goal, courtesy of Lucio if i'm not mistaken). Scholes for me is overrated, people make him sound like he's the best in the world sometimes and for me he's a good and influential player (the latter just for Man Utd lately).

I'm not disrespecting, i'm just saying i think they're overrated (but they're still a GOOD team). And i dont need to be jealous of England, i'm not a hater also (EPL is the most enjoyable league in the world for me). Dont go assuming things. I'm Brazilian, i've got 5 stars in my crest, i dont need to be jealous.

Owen is certainly not over-rated. At his current goal/game ratio he'll end up Englands highest ever goal scorer.

Don't waste your time trying to explain to them Spurs4Life, the Europeans have always had a think against us. I wouldn't be surprised at all if UEFA kicked us out for tickets they sold, one way or another if we have a good run they'll make it difficult for us.

Owen didn't score many goals because of the crappy one dimentional midfield at Liverpool. As everyone keeps saying, put him in a team like Real Madrid with Figo and Zidane creating, or a team like Arsenal with Pires and Henry and we will see how many goals he scores. Yes IMO he is too good for Liverpool. If semi's don't mean anything then Portugal must be the most overated team in the tournament then if it's only titles u go by.

yeh you are totally right. So many haters and for what?. We know we aren't the best team in the world, but we are more than capable of winning Euro 2004. Is everyone forgetting Denmark in 1992?. If you are in the last 16, you are capable of winning it. Like it or lump it we have a killer midfield and a world class striker, only thing we lack is a target man (like Shearer) and a decent defence and goalie.

One-dimensional? That was because only one player gave a ****, and that player was Gerrard. And his "one-dimensional" game with Owen is brilliant, they read each others minds! If you look at Owens' goal tally and think of the injuries and the tactics Houllier plays, he has done well this season.

He always comes up trumps for England, and I think Gerrard will show all of Europe what a player he is. (as he can hopefully next season in the Champions League)

YET, all of this included, I think France will win 2-1

I said semis dont mean titles (from what i remember... ). Of course that with these kind of services you're mentioning Owen would score more, but if you take our midfield, it's not so bad = Gerrard, Kewell, Hammann, Diouf (not comparable to Real Madrid, but you cant say he got bad service at Liverpool if you watched enough games... it's not like the ball didnt reach him, because it did, and boy he missed the good ones for sure).

And Bingo! Portugal are overrated.

This is exactly what i mean, you english are bringing up examples like Owen scoring a hattrick against Germany. Let me tell you something, Germany isn't THAT good.
I'm not saying that you are not any good, I'm just saying that you are not the best of the world.

If you would put every player in each squad up against eachother not a single player in the England squad would beat a French, maybe Campbell vs Silvestre and Cole vs Lizerazu.

We'll se tonight when England have gotten a lesson in football by the mighty french.

Well almost everyone i know agrees that Liverpool have played too direct this season and havn't used enough width, trust me Liverpool haven't been creative enough for him, he had a major injury problem yet still scored what 20 goals this season, so come on give him credit. I guarantee if he was Italian everyone would be giving him credit, like how people worship Totti. You say he got a goal in World Cup 2002 because of Lucio, well Ronaldinho only got a goal because of the ageing David Seaman.
