Oscar "Golden Boy" De La Hoya vs. Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins

This topic should be in the Other Sports Forum. Anyway, I hope Oscar wins although it looks pretty damn tough. Should be a good fight. 
Oh yeah, De La Hoya has a cut on his left ring finger that required 11 stitches. (:/) His trainer accidentally cut him Wednesday when he was getting his gloves cut off.

Damn, what can I say, that was a damn good shot from Hopkins.
He was on his way to winning the fight anyway, he really started putting the pressure on as the fight went on. For all the shots Oscar threw, not one seemed to affected Hopkins. (:/) Can't say I'm too surprised the fight ended like this, Hopkins was just too strong.

De La Hoya started out as the aggressor. he used his quickness, but as the fight went on Hopkins started connecting and overpowering Oscar. I wanted Oscar to win but can't say im surprised either, Hopkins is "the executioner".

De la Hoya got knocked out on a body shot? If that's true he deserved to lose.
That liver shot would've knocked even an elephant down, man. Something definitely broke.....couple of lower ribs maybe???
Respect to Oscar, he fought and didn't just shuffle his feet around the ring. Hopkins never really looked threatened, and when he picked up the tempo and his urgency rose, he pretty much had the bout sealed.
Hopefully Oscar will drop back to his normal weight now.....he's fought the cream of the crop in the last 3yrs and lost in a lot of those bouts....

Ass whooped? He was beating that f*cker until he decided that he had the fight won and didn't do anything. He should have won that fight. He isn't the same fighter though, I agree with you on that. He should just retire. He's gone as far as he can possibly go IMO, he's made all the money he could possibly need so he might as well just quit now. If he drops back down to his weight division, he might be able to go a couple of more years.
