Options for those who hate FIFA 2004

I've posted this in a separate reply, but for those who hate FIFA 2004, here are your options:

If you've bought it, take it back and get your money back.

If you can't get your money back go and live in a democracy with consumer protection laws.

If you've downloaded a cracked version and you hate it, who cares. If you downloaded it over a pay-for-play modem, you're very ill indeed.

If you have the XBox and can't get your hands on PES3 / Winning Eleven 7 (yet), sell it and buy a PS2 with Sony's new Xmas offer.

No more whinging please.

Note that the title of the post includes the word "hate."

If you "hate" the game, crying about it in a non-official forum in the antagonistic, small-minded fashion in which you do it, while saying precious little or nothing at all about the game's good points, automatically renders your rantings and ravings impotent, because nobody from EA will wade through the plethora of crap, piss and wind you all write to pay one second of attention to you.

You remind me of anti-globalization protesters who have all the criticisms yet no viable solutions...

This was the only line worth two cents. And in a multicultral forum too. :hump:

If you can afford a PC or a gaming console, and you have an internet connection and sufficient knowledge of English to engage in forum like this, you are automatically eligible to get a college degree in the US, which, if you apply for special foreign student loans for those in developing nations, you can go and live in a democracy with consumer protection laws.

If you're "fighting for your rights"...you shouldn't be spending so much time on a forum for pure entertainment...

StonKed: "......nobody from EA will wade through the plethora of crap, piss and wind you all write to pay one second of attention to you."

You talk as if EA will take notice of us if we don't write crap, piss and wind. But for how many years have people complained about the same problems with Fifa football games, and how many different versions have been released, all with the same faults?

It's not as simple as saying "if you don't like the game, don't play it and f**k off", because when a new Fifa game is released, ie. very often, we all hope we're going to like it this time, I mean what alternatives do us PC owners have? It's not like we're spoilt for choice when it comes to decent footie games.

So, we rush out and buy the new shiny version, praying, "hopefully in this new version we'll have complete control of the player, and they won't run into their own net with the ball or stand still waiting for a pass, refusing to move, whilst the defenders close in rapidly", or "fingers crossed that this version won't remember that I pressed a tackle button a minute ago and then hoof the ball out as soon as one of my players next touches it," or, "maybe this time they'll write a whole new game with new gameplay, rather than just rehashing the last version, maybe adding one useless 'feature' and updating the graphics a bit"

But EA don't listen. And the new FIFA games still have the same problems as a decade ago. No, I don't like it FIFA 2004, and NO I don't play it any more. I played a full season of Career mode to give it a chance, before uninstalling it and resigning myself to save up for a PS2.

There, a perfectly good rant, with no crap, piss and wind.

Well, perhaps a sensibly written critique or perhaps a drive to collect petitions from likeminded, unsatisfied customers would be a good start. And, BTW, you are admitting that you write crap, piss and wind. It's like yelling at a waiter in the restaurant...you automatically pass from being "in the right" to being a boorish, ignorant, embarassing patron.

For the umpteenth time, I said "hate" in the title. And BTW there are alternative games out there, like PES.

That's why there are things like demos which you can download first, or pick up with a copy of PC Gamer, or a similar publication. Would you buy a car without test driving it? Didn't think so.

I actually think there are many, many improvements over FIFA 2003. But I think that those who play on the PC, especially with KB and Mouse are never going to really enjoy the game (to its fullest extent), no matter what. Even with a PC compatible gamepad and high end GFX card it's still not the same as Xbox or PS2.

I gave options for people who hate the game. I have yet to have one intelligent reply that indicates I wasn't 100% on the mark.

Actually, no. You throw a hissy fit about a few gameplay issues and complain that the devs didn't make the changes you desired. You also are frustrated as hell because you bought the game (I'll take for granted that you actually bought the game, unlike most PC posters, I expect) and you probably didn't try it out as you should have done. That will amplify 1000 times the frustration you feel as a result of your choice.

Hmm...keyword, "choice." At least you have it.
