Online cheating?

I have been playing online with the PES launcher for a while now and have a good connection of 512 ADSL etc.

Every now and again I will play someone who clearly is able to have every one of their players with faster reactions, pace and skill for no apparent reason.

I am not a master player, but I ain't bad, and this is very very suspicious. To lose 5-0 or 6-0 in a 10 min game as France v England and see such a difference is very suspicious.

Are players able to edit game to speed up their players like that and cheat?

Sometimes one team always seem to have what I call the "mojo" , and they seem to have little spells during the game where they can do no wrong - get to the ball first, faster, etc etc. However this seems to vary during the game, and the mojo is just as likely to be with me as it is the opponment.

So... sorry to say, if you are losing 6-0 in ten minutes, you are just being outclassed.

I am quite good, I win most of my games but once or twice I've met players who just punish me - 5-1 was the worst. It has a lot to do with tactics and knowing the team - if your opponment was Arsenal or France and they knew how to get the best out of Henry then you're gonna stuggle....

Keep practicing, and if you're 3-0 down at half time, change your tactics.

AS you can see from my profile, I have been here in this community for 3 years. Honestly, its more than just being outclassed, the difference is marked right from the 1st pass.

I know what I saw and have seen occasionally.

of course everybody can cheat in online games. With any editor is 30 seconds job to make your team full of superstars... It's totally stupid, but it's like that

I must say, that FIFA is total crap, but the online cheating is done brilliantly there... Both players HAVE to have exact SAME rosters, if not, the game crashes. Hope this will be in PES5

Do you use super cancel? I use this very often and if used wright you will be the first one to get to the ball..

I agree, I have games when the other guy seems ultra human. I just can never get any time on the ball and the other team is always first to the ball. My thumb was hurting so much after 2 games because I had to try so hard that I could not play no more that night

i've experience this too....sometimes the opponent's players will do everything correct...no mistakes...when even the simple passes of your so-called good players will fail.
I feel this is some scripted AI that is there in single-player mode which is probably being re-used in the online mode too.

Also, I did'nt know that you could bump up the stats and use those for online. I thought it had to be identical on both sides or atleast they will use the default stats from the game rather than what's in the option file.
It's silly if they allowed people to bump up their stats for online games.

hmmm i don't think you can boost players and use those settings for online. i really think the game takes the default player stats stored in some other file for online play.
IF you can this should come out so we can identify the cheaters out there.

I would imagine so...it would be a big joke if they allowed stat-boosting in online games.

its the client that has the advantage.
Just be a client and choose intermilan/brazil/madrid etc. Now defending is a jiffy. Just hold sprint and just button bash [X]. See how your defenders chase the ball like hell and most of the time intercept the ball before the opponent gets it. Defending throughballs is so easy when client. Because your defenders often run automatically with the striker, even if you dont set man mark settings. You can make low passes from you own goal to almost the other side of the field, because your player automatically runs to the ball while that of the opposition just stands still.
Also notice that 90% of the airbattles on midfield are won by you and if its won by the opposition theres a big change that he heads it in your players feet, because a lot of time the cpu ignores the direction of your header while being a host.
And another thing is the pulling. This is really obvious! As a host your players alway fall down or trip during a fysical battle, sometimes its so silly that he will trip 3 times in a row. Just do this experiment and try to trip the opponent as a host than as a client and post your experiences. You cant deny it, but when you are a host your players are so weak and always lose the physical battle....
Its so obvious....I can go on and on, but I know its useless, because people wont believe anyway.

I tell you playing as host is much harder, because your player wont react quick or just wait or run the wrong direction. Even super cancel doesnt work in those situations. I understand why konami implemented this, because if the client is experiencing lag, this pretty much evens up the chances to win. But when you play someone from your own country the client has no lag, so he has got much more advantage...

yes pes4 is too scripted, but i think this problem can be solved real easy. Dont know if Konami did this on purpose or if its a bug, but its really annoying. The struggle for the win in hostmode and the easy winning is client mode.
Lets hope for a patch.

I don't agree with you saying that the client has the advantage! I yesterday played against a bloke who overran me everywere. He was just so skilled. I was client for two matches and host for two matches.

I easily win almost everygame I play but this guy was really good. First match 7 - 1, second 5 - 0, third 3 - 0 last 4 - 1.
I just had no chance. He was able to intercept almost every pass.
When he got a chance to score, he scored.

I spoke with him for a while and he is playing PES for a long time on the PS2. He now plays on PC (on keyboard !!!) to be able to play online. I started since PES3 on the PC. My skills aren't comparable to his.

What he did have was a stocked formation for Inter Milan. Which suited his playing style.

So I can say for a fact that skills are making the difference, and not cheats (which I dont think are possible in PES) or client, host differences (ok maybe LAG is another reason, but we didn't have any).

pepingo i dont say you will always lose when you are a host. Im saying thats its noticable different. If find it annoying when as a host you have to really struggle to play decent. When im a client i really have no problems at all, even when i got big lag. Sometimes i dont even push a button and they automatically intercept a pass.

Sometimes when im a host i play guys that cant even pull of a proper attack, the whole match he didnt get 1 shot at my goal. But he had a hell of a defence. Isnt that a little suspicious??

Got no clue? Maybe it's because off the teams you are playing with (team with one striker for instance like, portugal). I haven't noticed any off this and I have played a lot of matches the last couple of weeks.. I think it all comes down to your playing style and skill.
