Frankly this game proved to be very disappointing from alot of different views.

I admit I've been defending the game alot even before getting to play it just because I though it'd be a PC version of WE10 which I've been playing on the PS2 since may 2006.

But hell no, this one is totally different, it's a really crap game. Actually it's so F***ing scripted that it reminds me of Fifa.

I don't know why Konami puts the great gameplay only for the Japanese WE and totally screw up the english PES. Is that's the Jap way of feeling their national superiority or what??

WE10 is a much much better game than PES6. It's so much more realistic, the gameplay is much more fluent, shooting system is much more developed, goalkeepers are better, and the list goes on and on.

WE10 gives me a much wider range of gameplay. every single match is totally unpredictable. You can get easy, difficult, and normal matches on the same difficulty level and it's not always because of the opposition teams' rankings. Sometimes I feel that when I play with a strong team against a weak team the AI gives that team a little "edge" resembling the moral challenge small teams usually have against big teams in real life, and it works the other way around as well, big teams sometimes get a bit relaxed when facing small teams which sometimes leads to shocking results that are the main source of fun in football.

But in PES6 it's just so FIFA. Level's 1,2, and 3 are for little kids where I can beat Brazil using Reading, levels 4 and 5 are so unrealistically tough in a way that takes all the fun out of the game even if you get to win matches. You'll just have to do it with a very "industrial" way that it feels so much boring. Most of the time I win my games on level 4 just by scoring 1 goal and then playing keep ball between the back four for the rest of the entire match. Now imagine playing for only 2 mins then spending the last 8 mins of the game tapping the pass button to move the ball from one defender to the other. This is sometimes the only way to win a game because the AI gives his teams supernatural powers that even increase when they fall behind.

My main dislikes about PES6 are the following:

1- The shooting system. Alot of people are talking about it and they're absolutely true. The shooting in PES6 is so ridiculous. Strikers literally "blow it wide when it was easier to score". This aspect is so f***ing frustrating. You build up your play patientely, you make a great effort to round off defenders and create an opening, you're in a great scoring position and you give the shooting button just the perfect touch and BANG the ball is sailing way over the cross bar. You feel like wanting toe smash your PC. It's also something that you can't improve. I know for sure that this is the right amount of power to score but it's up to the AI whether to allow me to score or not.

2- Goalkeepers are so stupid, and again that's someting you can't improve at all, unless Konami wants us to improve to reach the "perfect player" status meaning that the opposition should not get any shots on target during the whole game. Take my last game for example. Playing with Portugal against Ecuador. They had only 2 shots on target and they both went in, and they were not even "shots", they were "EDGE OF THE PENALTY AREA HEADERS!!!!" can u believe it???. How many times in real life did you see an edge of the box header hitting the back of the net...and were not even diving headers. As for me, I got 9 shots on target and scored only once. Nuno Gomes, Ronaldo, and Boa Morte were all wasting from all kinds of angles. I just ran out of solutions.

3- The aspect of "SPEED" seems to have no effect whatsoever on the game. Any AI player can keep up with any of your strikers regardless of the Speed and acceleration attributes, and it works the other way round too. Any AI striker can beat any of your defenders if the AI decided that it must. An AI player can even run through 3 or 4 of your defenders with no problems as if he was Maradona even if he was only an unknown togolese player. The same words apply for "Stamina". By the end of the match many of my players are literally drained with no stamina at all which affects their speed and their response alot making them almost unusable whereas it seems the AI players never suffer from such human weaknesses. They keep sprinting, tackling, shoving, dribbling from start to finish without any noticable differences.

Well I'm really sad and disappointed regarding this year's game. I hope Konami can release a patch to fix some errors and make the game more like WE10. If they didn't (and I'm sure they won't) I just hope that next year they could provide us with a much improved game to make us forget that sin of a game they've released this season.

Still WE8I and WE10 are the best football simulations I've ever experienced in my entire life and much better than any Fifa game ever released.
I haven't had the chance to play WE10 but i totally agree with every word you have said about PES6, the game just frustrates me and for those exact reasons you mentioned. Also to add to your list I find the players first touch with their chest/head are terrible, alot of the time the ball just bounces off the player your controlling and the ball goes to the defender who is already in your face, and those time you do capture the ball with your chest by the time you bring it down the defender is already there to steal it off you, its just a joke, also while dribbling when you move to turn around the animations seems to lag allowing the defender to be again in your face to attempt to steal the ball. It's painful i tell ya, i keep trying to give the game a chance and play one more game and it just keeps disappointing me. :(

Try going online or playing with some real life opponents, preferably good ones who've been playing way longer than you. Then you will see their skill and all those things that you complain of, you will see your opponent doing to you, raping your ass again and again.

Then look at your human opponent and touch him, feel him, hey he's just human like you! Now ask yourself, if he can do it, why cant you? :brow:

Easy to know why, some people just put up with it and make the best of it and if you read other threads they enjoy the challenge. Doesnt make it realistic though does it?
Of course I can do it if I want to, but it shouldnt be like that.

You've hit the nail right on the head. What you've described above is the very reason why PES is so popular and generally considered the best footie game around. It rewards people who put effort into learning the game, how to score when one on one and not balloon the ball over, how to defend against comp players, how to make space to sprint clear for one on ones... these things and more.

Then again there are people like you who just want a simple enjoyable game of football without too much challenge, and so they cater for people like you too, that's why they have 1,2 and 3 stars :sun:

Lol, a simple enjoyable game of football? Pes is likened to real football by some, I have pointed out why it is not like real football. The challenge of PES is the overcomplicated control system and not the challenge of anything like real football. How can you make your statement without addressing what has been said about the ball ballooning over the amount of times it does in areas it rarely happens in real football. It doesnt matter what star mate, its not a matter of making it easier as easier is not what is wanted. Its wanting to play something that resembles the real game.

Just finished watching Match Of the Day I recorded. Eight games, goals and goalmouth action. How many ballooned over from inside the area? Just one, Ronaldo on the edge of the six yard when the ball came up off a tuft.
As Snowy has said, some people enjoy the challenge of PES and I have no right or intention of saying they shouldnt nor am I condescending to those people.
All I have done is given my opinion on the question of how realistic this is.

I've already addressed the ballooning over issue, you just havent been listening. How many times does the AI balloon over when you play against them? Rarely I bet. When you play against a pro human player you'll realise he rarely balloons over too. The question you now have to ask yourself is, if the AI and then a flesh and blood human can prevent their players ballooning over, why cant you?

I ballooned over when I started playing and was getting used to the new system, now I rarely do. Cos I found out why. You cant just take potshots when you feel like it even if you're one-on-one with the keeper. You have to time your run n look at how your legs are going ...so if you want to time it perfectly slow down right before you take the shot. Things like that... after you get the hang of it, it'll hit you like a bolt of lightning. Or you could just whine and switch back to 3 stars, or whine and throw the game out of the window. Choice is up to you.

I'm just pointing out logic to you, which is..if some other human can do it, so can you.

P.S. Here's another dose of reality/ logic for you. Take Brazil and play against China on 5 stars. Well maybe for 10 games you cant score even 1 goal against China and get beaten in 8 games. Is that realistic? Hey I mean how can Brazil not beat China? That isnt realistic so I guess that means you gonna throw the game away? I mean how come Zidane cant seem to make that pass to Trezeguet 90% of the time??? Unrealistic...this game is bull**** now throw it away. All those claims about this game being the most realistic....bah that's bull****!

FFS that's what difficulty levels are for...wake up. The keyword here is 'GAME'.

Thats pretty much what I learned from PES 4 onwards and its nothing new.
But OK Snowy, lets just get to playing the game/games we enjoy and stop getting irate with each other. 2 reasonably good and enjoyable football games PES6 and Fifa 07. Something for everyones taste. I play them both and will continue to do so.

Just aim for any old part of the goal. Hold down the shoot button so it has more power bur not too much.

By the way, if anyone who reads this thread and plays football regular for real must agree that what almost whatever body shape you are you can flick the ball towards the goal almost every time if you dont power it, without it balloning. You can do this because of all the amazing joints in the body that can adjust your limbs to react to the needed situation.

I just found another thing about PES6 that is unrealistic. Players hardly foul now and sometimes the game time of more than 20 mins passes without any fouls or the ball going out and I cant make substitutions. I mean have you ever watched a game on premier league where the ball doesnt go out of play for 20 mins. Freaking unbelievable... I cant understand how you people cant say that this is the most realistic footie sim. There must be some magical force that makes the ball stick to the players feet and they must have bones of steel to not fall down despite challenges 90% of the time! If Konami is going for realism, they took a giant step backwards with the ball not going out of play for far too long!

I'm going to go back to playing PES5. At least there players fall over at the slightest touch and the ball goes out of play every 5 mins of game time. That's like every 30 secs of real time...but hey at least that reflects real life! I don't give a **** about people saying that spoils the fun of the game, cos I want realism! And oh, in PES5 the players dont balloon over either! :rockman:

I have no disrespect for people who express an opinion a little bit different from mine, but it seems some people would have a world where everyone agrees with theirs.

FFS go thru the training and if you want to stop ballooning over it says right there in the training that if you want to do a controlled shot press R2 right after you take a shot. I gave you hints right at the beginning, if someone human can do it, so can you, all you needed to do was to find a way. But I guess you're just one of those who have to get everything handed to you on a plate.

I dont need you to hand me anything, I told you before I know what your saying and I dont need your hints and just because you keep banging on and missing the point should that change my point? Do you always miss the point or do you just see what you want to? Dont bother replying as I wont pay anymore attention to you, same as I dont pay any attention to that other plonker anymore.

No you are the one that keeps missing the point. You are just like a guy who plays the game and insists on pressing x (pass) instead of [] (shoot) to shoot whilst in the box, then comes onto the forum and insists the game is unrealistic because in real life how many players would do a pass to shoot??? Most people would think the guy is a plonker and that's what we all think you are.

Your problem is that you lack skills and dont know how to use the game's controls. Instead of looking for a solution you blame the whole world except your own intelligence. FFS your players are all ballooning over cos that's what you are directing them to do with your gamepad you plonker.
