I normally never write postings, but there is something troubling me with the latest FIFA...
First, I would like to say I'm a big fan of the series. I'm one of those players who has played the very first FIFA World Soccer and has been playing the series ever since. In the early days, scoring was frustrating easy. Winning with 10-0 was an avarage when I was a kid. But luckely, AI became more and more complicated and I really started enjoying the football game since 2003, I think. Because scoring on a professional level wasn't that easy any more, and I like a bit of competition (Playing matches and leaving the scores as is, not restarting the game after a loss or draw). I was looking forward to this title... I always play with a 3 and a half star team and in previous titles, I had to work hard to win the game but I enjoyed it. But now, after practicing a season in semi-pro (and winning) and starting the second in professional, I'm so disappointed in this game. It looks like it's impossible to score. When nearing the 6 yard box I always lose my ball. If I dare to shoot, a defender will block it. If not, my ball goes past the goal, just nearly. When performing a conservative tackle, I get a minimum of 6 fouls per game. When my opponent comes near my 6 yard box, my defence is not as superior as I experience the defence I have to fight with using my forwards. They even seem to walk around like morons not knowing if it's soccer they're playing or tag. My goalies are certified imbecils, letting 3 shots on goals all go in versus my 14 shots on goal resulting in a zero score.

I'm frustrated... And don't even think about replying with something like: 'learn to play the game'. I've played them all, loved them all, ruled them all... But now I have to say: goodbye my friend... There is zero fun to be found when playing on a higher level than semi-pro. RIP FIFA

I find the game irritating and frustrating too. I cant score less than 5-10 goals a game on World Class. It took me close to 4-5 months to be able to win comfortably on 6 stars in PES5. It took me 2 weeks to win on World Class in FIFA. :nape:

I'm surprised that, as a self-professed fan of the series, you haven't encountered this problem before. The pitching of the difficulty levels has always been a problem with the FIFA games, either making it too easy to move up the levels or too hard. I am not a twitch gamer, but there have been versions where I've been able to move up to World Class and still win comfortably, and others where I've got stuck at (generally) Pro because the step up was too difficult for me personally (but there are always those complaining that the game is too easy).

Generally I've found that if I struggle when I move up a level I need to review my approach and lose some of the bad habits that the lower level let me get away with. Go back to basics, pass the ball around to create openings, try shooting from various distances, take first time shots rather than trying to work a perfect opening, try attacking up the flanks rather than up the middle, or vice versa

Hmmm, maybe it's my tactics... I always used Box Overload offensive and Pressure defensive. Mentality is always offensive too and my setup is 4-3-3. Maybe I should change some things around, can anybody hand me some tips for a retiring gamer? :$

I would rather doubt that your tactics and mentality would account for your problems. You need to change your playing style, but exactly how will depend upon where you are having problems.

You also have to exploit your teams weaknesses. If a your playing a team that doesnt use much width, flood the wings and send balls in from there.

If you are up against a tough back for use two or three strikers to keep them occupied whilst pressuring through with your attacking midfielders.

Against a weaker defence? Just take them on and dribble past them (dont even bother with the tricks, you wont need them).

Always let fast players with good dribbling ability attack. For instance, I have Ribery and Cristiano Ronaldo on my team, together they make so many breaks all over the pitch the opportunities cant but help appear.

I would like to thank everyone for their good advice! I'm getting much better along in Pro now. I guess I was too quick to go forward with the ball, passing around and looking for openings is what I try to do now, but I'm still practicing :)
I've changed my setup to 3-4-3 for some blitzkrieg attacking ;) I was a little impatient some time ago but now I'm back and enjoying the game! So thank you very much y'all!!! :lui:
