i just this would be interesting to have a thread dedicated to skating.

well yesterday i went to the Zero demo at common ground skatepark in Toronto. It was awesome. i got to talk to Chris Cole, John Ratray, Adrian Lopez, and best of all JAMIE THOMAS. I got all their autographs. My friend got most of the demo on tape. I'll try to get it on the net. This was my first demo, cuz i don't count Boom Boom Huck Jam tour as a demo, at it was worth it

May 16, at the common grounds The ES team will be there, meaning i'll see Koston, Ladd, Penny and so much more....
Admission is free for anybody who decides to show up

sounds good... wish i could skate... but alas cant even stand upright on the board properly....

only thing i dislike bout skating / skaters ... is they find the need to wear there jeans so they have 10 metres of roll around there ankles.. and please... i dont wanna see what colour boxers they have as they have them hanging half way outta there jeans... thats my only gripe.

I use to Skateboard but i was an Unco. I could do the simples like ollie, board slide, 50-50 etc. I also use to be able to Kickflip. My :drevil: Best Achievement :drevil: was landing an Ollie down a 4 stair after about 8 attempts

A great thread this is.

I've seen some demos in Finland and talked with Jerry Hsu & Louie Barletta once.

I almost quit skateboarding last year, but now im addicted to it again. I tend to concentrate on style, instead of mad flip tricks or big rails. (I don't really want to go for broke..)

My current setup:
Status basic deck (7,875")
Tensor LO
some old rollerblade-bearings
Spitfire 52mm

shoes: éS accel (quite worn out already)
going to buy Vans Bastien XLT (?) next if I just manage to find them in a size large enough.

I got ~150 skateboarding movies on cd's, best one's currently being Habitat - Mosaic and the classical eS menikmati and RDS/FSU2002 which is certainly the funniest one out there.

Lately I've started to land tricks again. fs flips and a kickflip b/s noseslide once.

Shoes: éS Koston 2 now i have Circa's

I had that for about 6 months, then sold it because i gave up. The reason for me giving up was because one of my friends dropped in a 6ft Ramp and was trying to get speed. He lost his balance and fell onto his wrist, breaking it instantly. Ever since then i have been rather quite scared. The only time i ride a skateboard from now on is jus' to Cruise around

those suck imo. I got them once and 2 of them broke simultaneously when I had had them on my board for ~a week.

I only got them because they came in a cool little container But the guy at the local skate shop was really nice, and i only had one of mine snap within 6 months but he replaced it with another bearing

i've been to many a demo. Spire, Emerica, Es', Globe/Gallaz and a couple other i cant remember, all 3 of the Globe WC that have been here, and about 5-6 local skatepark demo's. Hardly skate much anymore but i still am very interested and enjoy watching it.

the tony hawk games are way too unrealistic in my opinion. The THPS2 was the best of them all with it's unique spots and atmostphere.

there also was the realism-mode which made the game almost realistic.

THPS is not realistic aswell, making the game boring after awhile

As for skateboarding I never tried although some of my friends do it; I do enjoy watching the skateboarding videos though.

Guys i need, i am new to skating and i wanna get better but i cant take off on the stakeboard. I dont know how to position myslef to pick up speed and all. Any tips?

well, it might be tough to learn if you're grown up already.

just try to skate on an area which is totally flat, so that you can freely learn to roll and you don't have to worry about breaking your wrist because of a little rock.

have you skaters had any serious injuries because of skateboarding? I broke my ankle last year and almost decided to stop rolling after that. too good some of my friends got me back on four little wheels.

i seriously ****ed up my knee last year when i tried rolling in on a half pipe(small one). My knee grew to atleast 3x the size, it was nasty

Those skate videos do rock because they can actually do tricks.

I can already tell you what most of you guys do when you skate. You fall down. You are no different than those piece of crap kids who hang out in front of any school and think they can skate. All you guys do is fall down and do ollies and brag to each other about tricks you could never ever do.

How do I know this? Because real skateboarders don't need to talk about what boards they have and what tricks you have done. They just skate.

Wearing skate clothes and owning a skateboard does not make you a skater.
