Gloryhunters only post when their team wins :nape:

You got to be joking about Arsenal, they are out of their league, Arsenal is classes better but that says enough about Dutch football in general :boohoo:

hehe, we're back in a comfortable position again, a 5 point lead over Ajax, 6 points over AZ and 7 points over Twente. Next week AZ-Ajax, if we win at home vs. Groningen, the team who loses is out of the title race i think.

Well I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong ABOUT LAST NIGHT :p
Good performance against a team like Arsenal but I don't think 1 goal will be enough for the return in London.
Make sure never to let Gomes go cause he saved you guys a few times for sure!
Anyway this is good for Dutch football in general as well so congrats, very solid performance.

Yeah, good performance surely, but as others said, it's doubtful wheter the 1-0 will stand the emirates stadium.

Should've won from Bordeaux in the last match, would've given you a 1st spot and thus getting a team with normally speaking less quality and you play the 1st game away from home, which is a huge advantage IMO.

hmm, Liverpool drew Barcelona. I rather play Arsenal than Barcelona.

We played well yesterday, Arsenal didnt get any real chances, only a few long range shots and 2 good chances (Henry and Rosicky). We also got two good chances (Kone and Mendez' goal)

Well that's why I said normally speaking. But you could've also drawn FC Porto or Lille, who I reckon not to be as strong as Arsenal, really.

FINAL - good result, although team looked sluggish but probably cause 1st time Koeman played with 3 line defense.

The back-line was good, only 1 big mistake (almost resulted in a goal though). The thing we really lack is an attacking midfielder that can form a link between the midfield and the forwards. Afellay did this well before the winterbreak, so it's good to have him back. Aissati is even more suited for this job, I really cant understand why Koeman loaned him out to Twente. He has been doing an awesome job there.

The match was very frustrating. PSV dominated, but couldnt create any really big chances. We only came close with set-pieces. It isnt a surprise Alex scored from a corner in the 85th minute...

Next week: PSV-RKC, should be easy, although in our form you never know.

Tomorrow AZ-Ajax. The losing team will be out of the title race, although I hope it'll be a draw. (and I'd rather have Ajax winning than AZ, Ajax has tougher opponents to come, PSV-away, Twente-away)

Again, we are the laughing third this weekend, AZ-Ajax 1-1...7 points lead over Ajax, 8 points over AZ atm. This cant go wrong anymore. Only 8 games to go to defend a 7 point lead. We still get Ajax at home too

Our next two league matches, before PSV-Ajax:

PSV-RKC
Excelsior-PSV

This gives us the opportunity to concentrate on Arsenal-away.

Apparently various media sources mention a transfer of Da Costa to Chelsea. PSV still deny. I dont think this deal would be good for any of the parties yet:

PSV will lose a talented defender
Da Costa wont develop as well anymore, because he will only play very rarely
Chelsea have to spend money on a player that isnt good enough yet.

quarter finals Dutch Cup:

NAC-PSV 3-0

whoop di doo, bye bye cup...

A B-line-up and a weak mentality, which has troubled us very often already...

how is Sun Xiang doing in Eindhoven?

he's doing pretty good, actually has got quite a bit of skill. only thing is he is not good at defending but he is very fast, good technique, and has a powerful left foot....:mrpimp:

PSV-RKC 2-0
3' Farfan 1-0
19' Alcides 2-0

Man of the match was Sun Xiang. He had a very nice trick and almost scored afterwards. He also had a huge chance with a header, but missed. He also produced a nice long range effort.

Ajax slipped up at home vs. Heerenveen. They're down to 4th position, with 2 difficult away games vs. Twente and PSV coming up. Our only competitor left for the title is AZ really. They are 8 points behind us, so we should win it comfortably.

2-0 is decent, but losing Kromkamp isnt that good. Both Kromkamp and Da Costa cant play against Arsenal. We'll have to improvise in defense as Alcides isnt eligible either.

I say take Cocu back a line and play with a 3 man defense:

-----Alex--Cocu--Salcido-----
-Mendez----Simons----Xiang--
-------Vayrynen-Afellay------
------Kone--------Farfan-----

This would be my line-up against Arsenal. Crowd the midfield. Xiang could act as left back as well. Kone and Farfan would have to move to the sides, so Vayrynen or Afellay can penetrate through the middle, we saw Arsenal had a difficult time when Cocu played very close to our strikers.
