It's official, neither Samuel nor Ayala will be playing against Peru this coming Saturday. Samuel still carrying the same injury and Ayala will be out for 2 months after going an operation for an injury he received against Paraguay in the final of the Olympics.

This is great news for Peru as both players have always played extremely well against Peru, especially Samuel. That means Coloccini and somebody else, maybe Heize? I dont know, but whoever it is, I smell alot of goals for Peru this time around without Samuel and Ayala being there. (H)

Well thats all in spanish, and honestly I express myself better in english than in spanish. Besides, these euro fan boys :p need to know where the best quality of futbol comes from, South America. ;) Don't get me wrong, I love euro futbol with their money, their names, their logos, etc... but if it wasn't for South Americans, euro futbol would be nothing... well, its still nothing compared to the quality of futbol that's in South America. In the end, if you love futbol, you love it because of the game, not because of the glamour and names.

Anyways, this post will get some euro kids to bite... so flame on boys! :mrpimp:

Peru's possible starting 11 for game against Argentina this Saturday:

---------------- Ibanez-------------
Salas-- Acasiete -- Galliquio-- Vilchez
Soto--Solano-- Palacios-- Jayo-- Zegarra
-------------- Farfan ----------------

With Pizarro injured and Mendoza not fit enough, seems like Peru will be playing with one sole striker. Maestri will be on the bench just in case Peru needs to put another strikerin in there. Even with Farfan being the only striker, I think Palacios, who usually plays as a number 10, will be up there along with Solano helping the attacking. Zegarra and Jayo will be doing most of the middle defending. I don't know why Soto still there.
Anyways, I have a good feeling about this game against the argies. Should be a great one to watch with over 80k people in Peru's new stadium, El Monumental, all rooting for Peru.

Starting XI
no I hear we may go with Farfan and Mendoza as the starting strikers. One cuz we suck with 1 striker. rather have 2.

ALSO IBANEZ IS DONE come on Peru. wake up! Butron is ready

Anyways, Heinze is as good as Samuel, and the last NT mayor defence with no injuries was:

Samuel--------Ayala--------Heinze

So, no problem with that. And as long as I watched, the probably eleven for Argentina could be

----------------Abbondanzieri-----------------

--------------------Heinze*------------------------

------Quiroga--------------------G. Milito*---------

------------------Mascherano----------------------

-- Zanetti-------------------------- Kily Gonzales**--

-------------------D'Alessandro-----------------------

-- Rosales**--------- Tevez ---------- Delgado**---------

References:

* Coloccini could be Sweeper and Heinze Left Centre Back
** M L could be Sorin, F R Delgado and F L Kily Gonzales.

Thank You Valencia for not sending us Aimar, and also for say it out of time. FIFA Rules will be applied :mrpimp:

Injuries:

Walter Samuel
Roberto Fabian Ayala

Out of fit/Level:

Juan Sebastian Veron (fitness)
Hernan Jorge Crespo (Level)
Pablo Cavallero (Level, though he is in the squad)
Juan Pablo Sorin (Fitness, did not play since Copa America, though he is in the squad)

Vacation:

Pechofrio Lucho Gonzales
Javier Saviola
Luciano Figueroa
German Lux

Missing in action:

Pablo Cesar Aimar (Valencia didn't want to send him)
Juan Roman Riquelme (Bielsa had him on his plans if Aimar were not authorized, but, Valencia communicate his desicion out of time terms)

COMPLETE SQUAD

GK: Roberto "Pato" ABBONDANZIERI (Boca Jrs.); Pablo CAVALLERO (Celta)

DF: Facundo QUIROGA (Wolfsburg); Gabriel HEINZE (Manchester Utd.); Gabriel MILITO (Real Zaragoza); Fabricio COLOCCINI (Villarreal); Diego PLACENTE (Leverkusen)

MF: Javier MASCHERANO (River Plate); Leonel SCALONI (Deportivo La Coruña); Javier ZANETTI (Internazionale); Cristian "Kily" GONZALES (Internazionale); Andres D'ALESSANDRO (Wolfsburg); Nicolas MEDINA (Murcia); Juan Pablo SORIN (Cruzeiro)

FW: Cesar "Chelito" DELGADO (Cruz Azul); Carlos TEVEZ (Boca Jrs.); Mauro ROSALES (Ajax); Mariano GONZALES (Palermo); Diego MILITO (Genoa)

There was rumors about Luis GONZALES being called to this duty, because of Valencia slowly resolution only left Bielsa with the option of calling players of domestic league, but Bielsa didn't call him (phew)

That's all I can contribute for all of us, information could be altered in a few hours, since Bielsa has so many doubts in conforming the starting elevens, mainly in defence

I agree, we do suck playing with only 1 striker but then again we need as many people in the midfield as possible especially with Argentina playing with only 3 defenders. Ball posession in the midfield will be crucial, so I don't think this is such a bad idea playing with 1 striker. As long as we can put the preassure in the midfield and countering, we'll be ok.

I agree, we should let Butron take over, lately he has performed really well for his club team. Let's hope that this is Ibanez's last year with the national team.

Perhaps this should be renamed the Official Peruvian World Cup Qualifiers thread.

Come on, i'm sure you could have posted something more informative than that... like if Recoba will play, and what will be the possible starting 11 for Uruguay, etc... It's going to be a tough match as Ecuador have been playing really well away. (Not including the Copa America embarrasement)

Yeah, ok, I'll bite.

We've got a few players missing. Chevanton is out for 6-8 weeks and Forlan didn't want to come for some reason. Carini was sold to Inter and traveled to Italy.

Sebastián Viera
Joe Bizera, Paolo Montero, Darío Rodríguez
Carlos Diogo, Marcelo Sosa, Javier Delgado, 'Cebolla' Rodríguez
Álvaro Recoba
Darío Silva, Carlos Bueno.

The rest of the team is composed by:

G – Luis Barbat (Danubio), Ignacio De León (Fénix)
D – Alejandro Lago (Fénix), Guillermo Rodríguez (Danubio), Carlos Valdez (Nacional)
M – Diego Pérez (Monaco), Juan Martín Parodi (Panionios), Jorge Martínez (Wanderers), Omar Pouso (Danubio), Federico Rariz (Nacional),
F - Vicente Sánchez (Toluca), Fabian Estoyanoff (Fenix), Diego Perrone (Danubio)

It’s basically the side that played the Copa America, except Varela wasn’t called up. Personally, I’d of had Lembo instead of Valdez in defense, and I’d like to see Regueiro, Romero and Garcia given a chance in midfield. Seeing as both our starting forwards are out, it would have been nice to try out a couple of new ones, I would’ve of preferred Estoyanoff starting ahead of Darío Silva, or I’d give Diego or Ivan Alonso a shot.

Talking about Uruguay: Personally, I don't like Silva, but he is very appreciated by Uruguayans, so, I have no regrets on comments (Forlan>Perrone>"Chengue">Silva IMHO), but, I think, that Vicente Sanchez, or specially "Lolo" Estoyanoff is a better option than Carlos Bueno.

Other thing: New Argentinian info on previous post :p

Honestly, I can't stand Dario Silva. He talks too much and plays like crap.

Sanchez... meh... he's ok, but he's not a striker. And Bueno is starting because Casal is trying to sell him.

Anywho... looks like we crashed the FIFA Rankings thread... we should do that next month too. :p

i cant stand Dario either. Really. I dont know too many people that can.

Vicente is actually really good in my book....great player (for a small guy) that needs his chance.

Expect Bueno to play the single greatest game of his life on Sunday vs. Ecuador. Then ull see him in a worst team than Monaco but making 3 million more just thanks to Casal.

im really tired of Casal. 1 good thing tho, Silva does put "balls"and scores in important games (Vs. Brasil in 2001 and Australia)

Also I was watching my old Senegal/uruguay game the other day and the guy went all out.

Hes still a "meh"tho.....Pandiani is way better. So is Abreu (who is underated in Europe) but in Mexico hes a god . hes way better than Palermo of Boca. Bad thing is that Abreu is useless in World Cups just cause the typical power forward uruguayan striker is all but dead (ie:Chenge)....need to evolve.

I like Bueno and Dario for Sunday....maybe Sanchez going in for Dario in Second half.
Either way Uruguay is trusting its awesome Midfield to take care of the scoring I thinK (Diogo, Recoba, Cebolla <truly a future phenomenon.....honestly saying this> and Sosa (who is inconsistent but will become one of the greatest #5's soon).

Only thing i love is our midfield....the rest is pasable. (exept for Montero who is my all time fave player).:rockman:

Good luck to Ecuador and the rest on sunday

An Uruguayan that hates Silva (well, I don't know if you hate him, but me yes XD) hopes you don't like Recoba (for me is a media product, like Aimar or Cavenaghi here) but, strangely, he is a great sub, I mea, if he doesn't start at the first eleven, and subs someone, he could kick as many asses as Superman XD

And well, for your commentary, Bueno is another media product

As a Side Forward he is really great and already having a great level. I Don't know why Silva + Bueno (Bueno did mamilas in Copa America)

Monaco is not **** for God's sake, they are CL Subchampions. Now, that's a typical media product, like D'Alessandro, Romagnoli, Tevez or Cavenaghi in Argentina. Media players are almost always crap, but there are exceptions (Romagnoli or Tevez of my list XP)

Well, good point for him, and that is true, except in semifinals XD

Chengue went all out, not Silva, I believe.

Abreu is a good striker, but already somewhat old. Pandiani is great, but I should use him as an Attacking Midfielder (both played in Argentina so I hace good references XP) If I were Uruguayan, I'd prefer to see someone like Estoyanoff there, young, a great prospect, earning experience from now, and using him till he profesionally dies. And of Course, Chevanton is the best Uruguayan FW nowadays, a pity that he's injured (Estoyanoff-Chevanton, and Forlan as sub, I think they are the best avaiable XP)

Sosa is great, but has a fatal error commiting stupid fouls sometimes.

Uruguay has great forwards, a strong midfield, and, except for Montero, a crappy defence. Go and look, the most scoring team and the most scored team are the same one, and it's call Uruguay.
