congrats to the US.

Adu really seems to be a great talent, I reckon he's ready for a chance in Europe and the Premiership would be perfect for his style.

Man, was that game intense. Neither side deserved to win (or lose) to be honest. Losing Seitz and Altidore to injury was a big blow. Hopefully those guys can recover, because we're sh*t without them.

I'm so glad only 10 people got to see such a good game, due to espn wanting to play a tape of a poker game instead. Wonderful job ESPN. :(, im glad we won though :)

YELLOW CARD: Untrustworthy
yeah, its a shame that ESPN didn't show it, they would have gotten pelnty of viewers for this one. Hopefully they will show the next game. I'm still enjoying this victory. Bradley almost lost it in the scuffle, could have ended up bad but luckily they were able to hold him back. :bob::bouncy:

looking forward to the Spain-Brazil match later, should be a good show.
I'll try to watch it, thing is it starts at 4:15 AM here (:/)

My US player ratings:

Perk - 4 (stating the obvious here, but... should have held onto the ball)

Wallace - 7 (for a makeshift left back, he's performed surprisingly well)
Sturgis - 7
Valentin - 6 (clumsy at times)
Beltran - 5 (should not start; even that ginger Irish midget Dax McCarty is a better right back)

Bradley - 5 (I knew that for him to score, it would have to be from 3 yards out)
Szetela - 5
Adu - 6 (kept in check by Uruguay for most of the game)

Zizzo - 5 (quiet game)
Rogers - 6 (had some good moments)
Altidore - 6 (heal... HEAL!!! The power of Christ compels you! THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!!!!!!!!)

Subs:

Akpan - 4 ("Akpan" must be Hindi for "not good enough")
McCarty - 6 (a ginger Irish midget)
Ferrari - 3 (played like a Buick)

Brazil wins 2-1 by HT and it's been a good match, worth being awake for :D

Leandro Lima - did I already mention that he's one of Porto's new players for the coming season? (H) - scored a spectacular scissor-kick to put Brazil ahead, then Pato scored a nice header, then Pique scored a total fluke for Spain.

Lopez plays for Depor.

how 'bout that Willian?
apperars to be a great winger, really fast and with great skill.
reminds me somewhat of Quaresma :brow:

Great game. Brazil didn't really deserve to lose, but they just ran out of gas. And damn, Spain could've finished Brazil the whole second half of extra time. But they just refused to pass.

Congrats to Spain...

Yes, Lucas was sorely missed, but with that sorry excuse of a coach, we couldn't do much better... it sucks for Pato, Lima and Willian though... they do deserve to go on and on in the world stage

Man, I thought Brazil would bounce back from the miserable group stage and win this one, especially with Spain's poor defensive record. But guess not.

Run_DMB, I disagree with your ratings. I thought Szetela was probably your best player, other than Sturgis at the back. He was basically the only visible midfield player chasing loose balls and making half of his passes at least. The rest of the team could not put 2 passes together and players like Rogers, man, they just waste the ball every single time. Adu was pretty invisible too, and he especially didn't step up when you guys went down a goal. But in the end, I'm glad USA won. Maybe I'll see them in the 3rd place match or something.
