Norwich City FC Thread 2011-12

I'm a Chelsea fan, but Norwich are my local team and have always been my second team and I have a big soft spot for them.

And what a season they've been having! I thought they were nowhere near premier league standard and would go straight back down, but they just seem defiant week in week out, and just when I thought they would start to slide after the Tottenham defeat, they snatch a magnificent point against Fulham then beat rivals QPR away... four great midseason points....

They're like Blackpool but with a backbone...

CANARIES!

Lambert resigned in unpleasant circumstances........ a sad end to a glorious time with Norwich.

Was very worried that this could lead to a nosedive next season, especially if Holt followed him out the door.

BUT the choice of Chris Houghton to replace him is somewhat reassuring, a very capable pair of hands.

As this thread is getting so busy now I think it might nearly be time for me to make the 2012-13 thread...

Do you guys realize quite how good Norwich have been lately?

They've somehow managed to take 7 points off of ManU, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea. And that's the same amount of points they've managed against Newcastle, Liverpool, Fulham, West Ham, Reading, QPR, Stoke and Villa. Thrashed by Liverpool, Chelsea and Fulham, draws against Spurs, West Ham, QPR, Reading and Villa and 1-0 victories over Arsenal, ManU and Stoke.

Some of it's impressive, but some of it is disappointing and it'd be very easy for those 1-0 victories to turn into lost points. Reserving judgement, but despite their great achievements I wouldn't be surprised if they went down.

Yeah but if you write off those early thumpings due to the change in manager and new faces in the defense you realize they have now made four clean sheets in a row, when every other team seems to be leaking goals, and two of those clean sheets were against United and Arsenal.

EUROPA here we come!

I think he'd quite enjoy "Suarez for Life", "Gerrard for Life", "Anfield in my Heart" or perhaps "I'll Never Walk Alone".

Or if you're feeling Blue, "I Love Ya-Ya", "Tevez Welcomes You to Manchester", "Why Always Me?", "Blue Moon".

BlueMoon with "Why Always Me" title and avatar is a great suggestion.

Superb late point in a very tough fixture for the league's form team.

Nady I undeleted your post because I rarely get to abuse my power and I really want to.

No big deal. I had no idea mods could do that. Thanks for letting me know, now I'll be careful when posting comments and deleting them.

Haha (H). I would obviously hate it but some hilarious suggestions there.

Good times for Norwich City. The win today makes survival very likely. Snodgrass a huge player.

Also, van Wolfswinkel coming in summer is a huge coup for a club like Norwich. With new revenue hikes and the ability to draw talent like that, we could see a Canary resurgence next season.
