big big huge match. a game which we desperately need 3 points to keep the slim hopes of second alive. although norway are a good side, and showed that when they beat us at hampden, i'de have to say this quote gives me hope for wednesday night:

do it egil! you know it makes sense!! 1 don has pulled out of the team and returned home in russell anderson, but 2 have gone the other way in scott severin and ryan esson replacing dailly and marshall. hopefully seve will get the nod to play as he has been absolute gravy since he signed for aberdeen but no doubt that random o'neil will play even though he is "fúcking shíte."

The SFA is in trouble with UEFA after fielding Steven Whittaker against the Italian under-21 side on Friday night, when the youngster should have been suspended. The Hibs defender picked up bookings against Moldova and Belarus and should not have played in the 2-2 draw. The UEFA website - www.uefa.com - confirmed on Sunday night that the Scottish Football Association is 'facing censure' after admitting to fielding an ineligible player during Friday night's draw in Motherwell. The Scottish FA has apologised to UEFA and the Italian FA for this rules infringement, as well as to the player and his club. A full investigation into the matter has been instigated by David Taylor, Chief Executive of the Scottish FA. This will be concluded after the matches in Norway.

Nae pressley in yer team Gav? I would pick one but quite frankly I can't be arsed. After our performance on saturday (I was at hampden) I think we're deffo heading in the right direction. Because Norway won on Sat I think that's pretty much it as far as qualification goes, a 5 point deficit just isn't going to dissapear in 3 games. I do think we actually have a decent shout of getting there in 2008. The futures looking bright in Scottish football...for the first time in a very long time.

i dont rate pressley for scotland. he always looks totally out of depth for me and is never as good as he is for hearts. weir and webster would always be my first choice at the moment, just a pity weir isnt 50 years younger.

I've just been looking at the FIFA world rankings and we're now 86th, with the following selection of footballing giants ahead of us.....Estonia, Kenya, Congo, Panama, Lybia, Cuba, Oman, Qatar, Togo, Uzbekistan, Zambia, Guatemala, Bahrain, Zimbabwe, Trinidad & To-f'cking-bago, even bloody Jordan is ahead of us, and she's pregnant.

I reckon Norway will find it tough against us. They scarcely deserved the win at Hampden and that's when we were the shambolic, aimless, traumatised mess that characterises a Berti Vogts team, but I reckon it'll be a 1-1 draw. Ostenstad will probably come on and score a 25 yard pearler, then never score again in the rest of his career.

But even if we scrape a win, Norway still shouldn't have too much trouble picking up what they need in their last 2 games to clinch 2nd spot, so we're essentially playing for pride.

It's also important to pick up as many points as possible as it goes towards our seeding for the next Euro Championships draw.
