I was told in this forums over the last few months that the Demo is from the full game ( Final Code ) a demostartion of the game to see if you want to buy it. Now are we to believe that the demo is separate from the Full game , No its not its a piece of the final game to show off its wares. Now all the officals told us today was the day, when people asked early morning even after being told days ago that the demo was sent to EA UK for testing and release that the reason for the delay was EA Canada was not open yet and we had to wait for them to release the demo. Now EA UK has been testing this demo for days now again are we to believe that on the day of release they then find a problem not with the fianl code but the setup file(s) I take it thats the files you see when your transferring the demo file onto your harddrive? So after days of testing they come into the office and low and behold this morning out of the blue the setup files are ^&*( and we need news ones. I don't buy it ! What did they wait until this morning to test the demo then find the fault , no I don't think so! And as people have said if its a small problem of the front end set up files being the problem and not the game code why the DAYS of delay. D/L the new files from EA Canada to EA UK Mins and replace this takes days??????? naw

Exactly right man. Are we to believe that they're sending the corrected files by f***ing postal mail or some crap!!! If I worked for the crapiest, low-budget place in the Western world I could freaking email you the files or transfer them through FTP. But no, not EA, the files will take days to get there, get implemented and tested again.

What a complete bunch of bollocks! I can't believe people are making excuses for them. If the demo ain't working what chance do you think that the final game is working???? How hard is it to make a demo? I have two close friends who both work for software publishing houses, one who codes conversions from PS2 to X-Box and PC games and he told me that making a demo from final code is easy. If the final code is working then basically any half-assed programmer can make a demo from it.

EA are feeding us crap, the gullible are buying into it. You watch, this game is gonna be a freaking disaster. How much longer will people conveniently forget that last year they claimed that they couldn't correct the heading problem after the demo becasue of time constraints in getting the final game packaged, distributed and co-ordinated for release. IF the final game isn't finished now there is no way on this earth that it will be released on the official dates claimed. And, if the demo isn't working, the final code is either incomplete or it is bug ridden.

Quit making excuses for EA people. they've f***ed up, haven't got a final code that works two weeks before release (and about two days before production and distribution is supposed to begin to get it worldwide)!!! If you bite into a sh*t sandwich, don't complain about the taste!!!

Let's be honest. Demo = stripped down version of the full version.

If the setup files aren't working then there are BIG problems. For real, almost any programmer can strip features out of a full game to make it into a demo especially a recurring model like a sports game. The setup files are the most basic, basic part of the game because it's those files that boot the rest of the game up to play. If you can't boot the freaking thing, how can you test it? So if they can't even set the game up, how can they test the demo for bugs. Basically they haven't even tested the demo then if they can't start it at all! If that's the case then you have to wonder if they have a chimpanzee doing the demo from the final code.

Stand by for a disaster people or a set-back release date of December! It takes 7-10 days to press, package and distribute a medium range title. For a title like FIFA, to meet the release dates the game should be gold by now and if they can't even make a freaking demo how much faith do you have in the final code?

There is no schedule dude. The game isn't ready and the demo isn't ready so however long it takes EA to make some passable 90% working piece of code then that will be it. Don't be surprised if the game is scripted to crap to cover the bugs though.

Someone told me that the reason the demo was delayed is because they forgot that football was supposed to have goalposts on the pitch.

Corporate Lies

Hey Guys!
I'm sitting here and I can't understand the EA ppl.
Do they actually think that we're complete idiots that we'll just
swallow this corporate BS Lie???
As a communication EXPERT I'm telling you that it takes not more
then 1 minute to upload the fixed Demo files to UK.
They are sitting on a huge Internet backbone.
The EA internal WAN network is so fast that in fact they can upload the whole game to UK in matter of minutes.
So, every year it's the same corporate lies.
But all they do is whining about:
Not enuff time, bugs , errors, complex gameplay needing complex code.
They don't release patches, fixes, or anything else fot that matter too.but still complain about how hard it is.
I tell you EA ppl right now: You can't deal with bugs, errors and complex
code? then don't play with the big boys if ya know what i mean.
There are others who will take your place faster then the speed of light if you can't hack it in this industry.
PES3 is closer then ever for one.
We pay the big bucks to play a big game so give us what we deserve for our money and on time!! otherwise if not, leave it to someone who can.
But the most insulting thing is your lies and stupidest excuses.
that realy insult our intelligence.

What a nice picture. True fans came to the !unofficial! forum

to show us what is bad (Canadians as programmers) and what
is worse (Canadians making FIFA games).

As the famous joke says:

-How many Canadians will you need to make great soccer game?

-It doesn't matter game won't be great anyway

P.S. Was it funny ?:crazyboy:

Correction: PS2 version is finished. I don't think the conversion to PC is finished. Why else would they have pushed the release date back to November?

are they canadian? I thought they were british...at least I could tell it from their accent...or maybe I dunno nutin' about accents?

I don't care how much time they'll take to deliver FIFA, as long it will be the good they say it will...don't forget it too...they're evidently focusing the whole thing more on PS2 version...check the making off videos and PS's reviews and u tell me...

They also know that's their last chance...maybe FIFA's or that FIFA's crew last chance...so, be patient...I belive a fat, whitey and smiley rabbit is gonna out that hat...

Top Ten Excuses For The Demo Being Late:

1 - Our office dog ate the "setup files".
2 - We were too busy giving Madden 2004 it's 4th update despite only being out for a month to bother about some stupid soccer game.
3 - We were under the impression that you wanted a VIDEO demo!
4 - FIFA 2004? Crap, is it that time already?
5 - Some of our staff are on strike because Rio Ferdinand can't play for England on Saturday and we just felt kind of sympathtic for him.
6- Our network is down so we have to mail the setup files by regular postal mail. It should be ok though, we expect the files to get there by next Friday or Saturday.
7 - The chimpanzee who converts the full version to the demo is waiting in line at the grocery store for more bananas to arrive. The rest of us don't know what he does to make the demo work!
8 - Hrjove told us we can't release it until he has convinced the world he is important. Yes, really important and not just a regular fan like the rest of you. Looking like 2010 then!
9 - We found out that we're not 100% sure about the offside rule. Or physics!
10 - Ok, it's a fair cop. We didn't want to release the demo becasue we'd rather you all got impatient and bought the final version before you found out that the game was utter crap. Please don't go an buy that PES3 game, pelase please please. It may play almost perfectly but it doesn't have the crowd chants of the Ecuadorian Rainforest Division 4 in it so how crap can that be?
