No ballspin?

Is anybody able to actually get the ball to spin on free kicks? I can't at all. I thought it was me, or the player I was using, but I've just spent 10mins in practice mode with Thierry Henry taking the kicks, and it won't spin no matter how much you tell it to. The ball goes out like it should do, but just won't come back in, and so is never on target.

In the demo, there was the same problem, but the ball would spin when playing normally (ie not free kick). But in the full game I haven't curved the ball in normal play either yet (although this may be me!)

Anyone else found this?

I may be quite wrong here, as I'm not the best at terminology...but I think your problem is that you're simply striking the ball too hard.

Here's a good test:

* Select Arsenal/Henry and go into Direct FK practice.
* Line up at Location #4 (you're a bit off to the goalie's left)
* When the whistle is blown, aim your targetting cursor directly up (middle of the crossbar)
* Aim your spin-cursor directly right (for a ballspin to the right)
* Play around with varying kick strengths (pay attention to where you stop the bar when it comes back for accuracy as well).

To me, it seemed like the goalie had to go a step or two further to his left to grab the ball when I used half the bar, as opposed to 80-90% of the bar (the yellow part, not the full bar), but I did this for just a few minutes, so I may be incorrect.

Give it a try and let me know what you think.
