I am starting to use more long-balls, etc myself and when I get an easy one in, I exit the match and tune it up some more.

I hope it improves on the air-balls and makes the physics more unpredictable.

A nice little addition to this beta is that the clock doesn't stop in OOP like in real games, the clock keeps on going until you get back into open play.

Right, so I just played one match against Liverpool and got crushed 5-1. The problem of guys kicking volleys from right outside the area still remains. Some goals were scored like that in this match. I liked the difficulty in the 6.1 beta. Maybe if you make it a mix of this beta and of 6.1?

The shot mechanic is good. I really like it. You don't really need to change that.

Ball physics are also good, no changes need to be made.

I am going to play a couple of more matches, focusing more on the crossing and long-balls, and of course what I usually lookout for (ball physics, shooting, difficulty etc)

you use exploits and claim to be a fifa master? sorry, but taking advantage of exploits in a code is not really playing a true soccer game. i take my time, pass the ball around, keep poession, etc. because I know constantly making runs never happens, guys would get too tired and have too much opportunities for counter attacks. If you just go at it everytime and take advantage of situations and bugs then please stop posting, you are ruining the game experiences for people who try to play realistically

Well the biggest problem with exploits is that it might be more or less a bug and something I can't alter. If the cpu positioning is that bad, then it's a shame.

Although I do think I've improved it.

Just found a way to get ground passes to be ultra realistic. Will use this in the next beta, great way of making it look natural.

And I too pass realistically, only recently have I tried exploiting myself so I can try solve it and I am getting closer.

Might just have to wait for FIFA 08!

It seems to be that way across the board. I know that with the default EA gameplay I could push the ball down the wings hard and cross into the box without issue. With your gameplay, it can still be done, but it's a lot harder and you have to time it right.

The other thing is that I've exploited the CPU that way too. You can catch the CPU with long balls using the air through ball because if it's timed right (and your target has better speed than the defender), the ball lands right in front of the box, the striker collects it, and gets a one on one with the keeper. Since the ball lands outside the box, the keeper stays back in net and it's up to the defender to stop it. It happens a lot when the CPU pushes towards your goal hard, and the CPU defenders play closer to midfield. I don't know how that could be altered without changing realism.

Personally, I can say I do that every now and then, but I also find that it only works with a speedy striker, like a Leo Messi or a Sergio Aguero. I've been playing as Chelsea, and I've only managed to get a handful of them to work with the likes of Drogba and Sheva, who are slower than the two others I mentioned.

I'll also say that I try to play the same tactics that my team play. So with Chelsea, I try to dominate possession and push the ball through the holding midfielder (I edited to add a 4-1-3-2 formation), then I try to push it down the wings for deep crosses. But I have tried that long ball approach, mostly when I'm desperate to try and win.

thanks for the feedback mate. I am trying to see what possible physics could affect the air-through ball, but there isn't one that I can see here. Although the powerup rate, I have just reduced this minute along with some others variables to try and sort it. I'd say 6.2 does make it harder to do these types of goals. But I still want it to be near impossible to be so lucky!

The biggest thing is that you really can't stop them altogether without changing the rest of the fantastic gameplay. For instance, when you hit those types of balls, the ball will bounce and not go forward toward the GK. Physics-wise, it makes sense and makes the rest of the game better, but it's a small glitch that happens on those types of plays.

I would say after playing 1 game with 6.2, you've probably done all you can without overhauling your previous work. People will always find exploits because it is a CPU after all. I think that part of making a realistic game is up to the user to play the game with a realistic tactic. But that's just my opinion. I'll have to play a few more games to look for other things.

Well I personally have noticed a lack of horizontal bounce in dry games. check out the 360 version of 07. It's much harder to judge the bounce as it goes more on the XZ scale then just Y (vertical).

Basically, I'll add in a bit of 360 physics so that if you do get the ball in front of your forward, he'll have to be much faster to get on the end of it, or the keeper/defenders will have it! :rockman:

I believe this will add realism and even more excitment if you do connect one.

news; the air-through ball bug is now fixed. Ball physics resemble more of the Xbox 360 version in terms of ball bounce and weight. There is more emphesis on the XZ bounce then Y.

The first two results were realistic enough, but the third one was weird cos it was against Arsenal and I flattened them and they just didn't attack. They just waited for me to do something and there was no attacking at all.
Same in the other two games. With your other updates I was conceding a lot of goals, but now I'm not.

I think the defence is good, now you just need to get the CPU active. It doesn't do enough on its own accord.

The defence will improve and become nore natural to break. You will notice when there's a natural break and you can create beautiful, exciting plays.

Shot mechanic will be slightly more tricky on the fly. Instead, shooting will be certainly a prefered foot, composed mechanic. Rather than a ground shot with power, you want to be thinking more about your players' attributes and pressure from defenders rather then 'can I tap it in'.

Ball physics are looking spooky like the 360 version. Much harder to connect an air-through ball as when it hits the ground at such a high pace, the drive forward and speed sends the ball realistically forward bouncing, instead of an unrealistic vertical jump. So only the fastest players' can keep up or with some luck the ball will stop. But by then the cpu defenders are already back ;) But of course, it won't be impossible to score this way, just reduced the chances.

there's more delay controlling the ball and trying to twist and turn your way round defenders. You have to have the best players' to do this now.

USER goalkeepers will be much better, stopping good shots and making the AI press more and more and try harder to score, rather than score 1 and get lazy.
