I have... I didn't think it played much different from FIFA 07 to tell you the truth. But the demo resolution was only 800x600 and I couldn't stand to look at it any longer so I stopped.
Anyway, NK, you're update is just beautiful. So beautiful, in fact, that EA's programming faults start to come into play. For instance, I play a long ball to my target man (Drogba) just outside the box. He holds up play until my midfielders and wingers catch up. I play a brilliant through ball out to the left wing to Malouda. He darts towards the backline and cuts back to lose the defender. My CF's (Drogba and Pizarro) are both covered in the box, so I look to pass back to my CM's who should be running towards the play. They're NOWHERE to be found. In fact, both Lampard and Essien are some 40 yds away from the net. Unfortunately, the update can only go so far and I believe that's a fault of EA's hard coding. But the option to do that is there... and it wasn't before.
I also find that this is the first update where I've had to play everything by the book. I've been using the simulation gameplay that's said to be easier, but I think in some regards it might be harder. You have to be tactically sound or the CPU will attack you to no end. I've conceded goals relatively easily to CPU counter attacks, but only because my defenders were out of position or, in the case of the fullbacks, got caught too far upfield. I've actually had games where I'd get overaggressive and the CPU would pick it apart.
I love this gameplay. It's more challenging and seems much more realistic now. The only negative I've noticed is that the GK's seem to parry the shot a lot and on distance shots, they don't parry them behind for corners, they end up in the run of play. But it's not nearly as bad as it's been in the past.
