I had decided to stop making the latest update, but I've decided to go back and finish it. It will be released soon!

This will be the last ever update, so I hope to make your FIFA 2002 experience very enjoyable and a great challenge!

Right, I have some annoying news. I was going to have it finished today and out tonight or tomorrow, but sadly the computer that runs FIFA 2002 and any other game for that matter, is having problems. The Power supply fan has gone, its bearings are all dead and it would be foolish to keep it on, knowing that any minute the computer could literally fry!

Hopefully, the update will be out tuesday/wednesday, next week.

I realise there's not many FIFA 2002 gamers waiting for this update, but that's fine by me as long as those that are playing it, get a challenge and more realism.

Now that Jomi has figured out a quick and easy way to underclock the processor speed on Windows XP...there may be more and more people interested in getting this game going again. I was talking to Jomi the other day and it seems he may even be interested in doing another roster update for 2002. I'm not going to underclock my processor, but I might actually get the old computer fired up again and get to work on another update myself.

I think several folks in the community have seen that their dismissal of FIFA 2002 was premature at best. With your gameplay patches installed, it may yet go down in history as one of the better FIFA games. You rightly ought to get some credit for that, and I have seen your name mentioned whenever FIFA 2002 is discussed...so you see, this game is your legacy.

Great to see you're still hard at it my friend. 2002 is still my favorite game because of your work. We need to talk more often of other things! Stay in touch!

Thank you Mutiger, I will keep in touch regardless of FIFA.

If you and Jomi and others fire up their FIFA 2002 games and start adding more to the community, I will probably continue my updates, but as of now this is the last one. Then again I've had "the last update", oooh about 3 updates ago? hahaha.

Right now as I speak I am just finishing the last minute tweaks, sorry for the delay, but I just had to give this some 'extra time', to make sure that you're challenged and the game is balanced.

I've really come along way today, it is now Friday, so I have missed the "confirmed" date that I set for the 24th.

As for the defence, I've found a new way to make it harder to break the defence, so I'm taking more time to make sure I get it right.

Ok guys, it shouldn't be long now, oh sh!t I have REEEEAAALLLLLY missed the release date here, but TRUST ME it's ALL for the better. I have gotten the A.I to tighten up in defence, close players' down quicker to disallow common attacks and the shooting is much more unpredictable one minute you'll be hitting a normal shot, the next making the keeper stretch and just gets his fingers to it and then you'll see the shot go waaay over the bar or extremely inaccurate and no where near the goal.

The tackling and CPU shooting has also undergone some changes for realism.

It's rather exciting to be in this situation again, to actually be enjoying FIFA 2002.

I'm just tweaking it now, I changed a LOT of variables from the defending to the shooting.

Just some information on the shooting: It's more powerful then it was originally going to be, but directing the shot requires skill. I'm worried that those of you who use keyboards will find this very, very, very difficult. Those who are using gamepads will be challenged, but you can certainly play some good shots once you come to grips with it, but the first few shots will probably be VERY wide! But it's all the better feeling when you smack one in the back of the net. The CPU find it much harder to score also, this been by directing the shot and beating the goalkeeper.
