NHL 2001!!!!!!!!!!

I just got and installed NHL 2001 in my computer but whn i press play in the autorun it loads than it says

Thrash_opendll-Loadlibrary failed on "z" Getlasterror code is 1157. Check this dll is installed. Direct X version is 7

Anybody know what can i do?

WOW! Yes, I got the same error the first time I installed it. This is what I did, uninstall the program, then go into File Manager and then Program Files/EASports and then DELETE the NHL2001 directory (but only AFTER you have uninstalled it). Now run scandisk, and it should fix any errors on your disk. Now install it again and it should work. It happened to me and I was pulling out my hair. But make sure you delete the NHL2001 directory after you uninstall it, or it will give the same error the next time you install it.

i tryed scandisk and defragging and still nothing and i followed what ever you said anyone else know what to do?

Also neutral would it be problem if i had DirectX 7.0a and would it also be a problem when i went to DXDIAG on my computer and there wa a file under Direct Driver and it had an error on it? the file was opl3sa.drv

Damn, I dunno. I have DX 7.0a and after I reinstalled NHL, it worked fine. Try re-installing DX (if you can) and see if that works. If all else fails email EA.

If it's any consolation, I feel your pain - I was pulling my hair out and screaming when NHL 2001 didn't work for me. Hope you can sort it out.

Anyone else here who can help him?
