Which is what I find so absurd. Same with the Dream Team - it's rarely ever the Dream Team anymore, though at least it includes NBA players (which I actually find even stranger).

The NFL would shit themselves if Aaron Rodgers goes and tears an ACL playing amateur teams from other countries. No way shape or form they would allow any marquee player play. FIFA isn't there to tell them what to do.

Division rival. Hope he is a massive flop, but that's not to say that I think he will be. His speed is very impressive. Of course I wouldn't say that 220 is "much heavier" than his counterparts. If he can learn to pass block without holding, he should be a very useful player.

100kg compared to 88kg for someone like Beckham Jr is a hell of a momentum difference. But "much heavier" is probably an exaggeration. Especially as I imagine Beckham is one of the faster (and therefore lighter) wide receivers.

But for a guy of his size to still be running that fast over a short distance is surely impressive. In the NRL he was also one of the most elusive players, fast on his feet etc.

One thing's for sure, if he does make it, whatever franchise he makes it with will pick up a LOAD of Aussie followers. Maybe they should come over and do a game here, like the MLB did....if he makes it of course :)

All the articles suggest he'll play RB, not WR like your crush Odell Beckham. His 40 time is far too slow and frankly, he is too bulky to play that position. It is also technically much harder to learn how to run routes from scratch as opposed to just hitting a hole with the ball and gaining yards.

Hayne is 6'2'', 220 lbs, and ran a 4.53. Those are RB measurables.

Of course from pictures I've seen I would venture that his legs are far, FAR too skinny. He is extremely top heavy and that won't help him at all. I would almost say that his future position (assuming he can block) is as a receiving FB or an H-Back. I'd want him to put on 20 pounds of muscle in his legs and ass though.

Grr I'm disappointed at myself because I even knew that (WR vs RB). I just get my offensive players mixed up :(

I think it's because they keep saying he also wants to be a kick/punt returner, which is often done by wide receivers?

Everything I read says that they are usually a wide receiver, defensive back, or running back?

Because those are the fastest, most elusive players on the field, not because "that's just the way it's done".

Yeah, which is fine. Point remains that they're usually the guys who do it - and that's a role they're talking about for Hayne.
