When I mentioned the cell chip in relation to PES6 (as this thread originally started) I was assuming the PS3 would be out in time for it...
One would expect developers of successful titles to get the technology ahead of the release in order to make games to coincide with the PS3's debut. However delays can happen, either with hardware and software. The "pulled statement" that mentions the new developments for PES6 could indicate it is going to be a PS3 title, though until it is confirmed how can we know? Though, as one of the most popular sports series in Japan and Europe, I would expect it's release to coincide with the new consoles debut (or shortly after).
PC users, X box users and PS2 users are all going to have to upgrade as they will want the best technology. It will be so far ahead, it wont compare to the mainstream consoles at all. There will be no choice...
It will be like choosing today between an X box a SNES and a Sega Master System....
