They show up in FM Scout but they don't show up actually in FM (:/)

so why would a player be able to play a certain position and you're not allowed to see that ingame?

It's how well they can be trained in that new position.

you can still play him in that position...

for example Ruben Baraja is a DMC but you can play him in the midfield aswell
