New MLS team and logo...

In some recent threads, a few people said that the MLS team names lacked European tradition. Well I got to thinking that if we added a team like this one, we could certainly adopt one of European football's "traditions."

And MLS would have a reason to release 47 new kits per team each season.

there are plenty of people that like manchester for the right reasons.. the same way there are plenty of gloryhunters for every other team... for some reason people are jealous of Man U, or Real Madrid, because they know how to do business... get over it people..

First of all it was meant to be a joke. I know there are true supporters of United. I just picked their logo because I am an Arsenal supporter and like to poke fun at Man U the most. I could have picked Real, Bayern, Barca, Milan, or another club's logo just as easily.

I don't like people that move from club to club, searching for winners. I don't have a problem with the clubs themselves, or the business they do. With the exception of United. I don't like them because they are a rival.

The point of my post was actually that I am sick of hearing about the lack of tradition in MLS names and how much they suck...glory hunting was the first thing to come to mind as a fake tradition in Europe.

yeah I am sick of that also.. like there is some kind of rule that all football names should say United or something like that... besides most people that bash the mls dont really watch it, they just dismiss it because "oh well.. is just american"

Exactly. Last time I checked an atlas, MLS was located in North America. When the United States becomes part of Europe, we'll name our teams like other European ones. Until then, we'll keep it the way it is.

The mls still has alot of growing to do, people who hate it are just
idiots. the mls teams need to get more people interested in soccer, lower game tickets is something they could do.

I'm happy to see, recently they have started to take on harder
international competitions, that's what's going to make the teams
be recognize, not some european a$$ name. I know they lost
the concacaf champions cup, but they showed category against
other north american clubs. And that was a big victory.....

I don't think anyone was complaining about the lack of tradition of the MLS names. I think we were having a go at how non football they sounded.
Personally, and I stress once again it's only my opinion. I think they sound more like Ice Hockey or Grid Iron teams.
( But you explained why they are named so. )
As for glory hunting being a European tradition, I think not !(Most of the glory hunters on this forum seem to be Non-European.) I'm also pretty sure there are plenty of fans from the NFL,NHL etc... who switch teams. By the way your club badges are really good

Thanks. But, I think we should put one of the teams in NYC, then everyone could "love" them as much as the Yankees.
