It's not Puma's job to entertain us. It's their job to produce class, comfortable kits for football players, and they've done that.

you usually nail your points down well, but I think you're way off on this one, mate ...

Kit-makers (including Puma, of course) sponsor teams because they want to make money ... and they do so by producing jerseys that are so aesthetically appealing that millions are willing to part with 40 quid to get one ... that's why they splash the cash on big ad campaigns too -- to entertain, engage, and ultimately coax us into wanting a shirt so we can both feel like and show that we're in on the action ...

the comfort factor for players is considered important, but definitely secondary -- look at the post on the previous page about the Puma kits at the 2006 World Cup ...

as for England's Away Shirt which will be mainly Red I assume and has a centered England Logo (read kitbag product description)

as for the Launch I still think it's going to be the days before the Switzerland game (at least for the players and presentation)

England Home (White) Away (Red tbc)
Switzerlans Home (Red) Away (White)
France Home (Blue) Away (Red)

good reasons to start vs Switzerland with the new kit:

  • optical cut from the McLarren& not Qualifiying Failure and the unloved Home shirt (one of the most despised designs ever, German themed because the gold, darkblue and red almost look like "Schwarz, Rot, Gold)
  • Capello's 1st game & a new Era
  • maybe Becks 100th game
  • Munich Memmorial (Manchester famous Red Kits)

If anyone can post some release dates that'd be swell. I really want to know when the new Japan shirt is out. I hear the Liverpool home shirt will be out at the end of May.

Guys, I have a question that's been bugging me for some time now...

Does anyone have some news about the new Romania kits? Like all Adidas teams, Romania should be getting new kits too...but I haven't seen any news at all...

So, anyone know anything? Thanks! :)

(Btw, I hope Romania never hook up with Puma...THAT would be so sad :()

You are an armchair supporter and I can tell that because only an armchair supporter would share a naive view like this. If you are right then why in the first place did Adidas come up with new kits fo 09. I have seen and worn most of the adidas kits and can tell you that the 09 ones ARE RUBBISH in terms of comfort compared with the very soft and comfortable one made for WC06. What happened to all that climacool technology. It practically got scrapped for the new 'retro'shirts. Has it never occurred to you why a football team never ever wears the same shirt for more than 2 seasons. ITS BECAUSE THEY WANT TO TAKE AS MUCH MONEY THEY CAN FROM DIE HARD SUPPORTERS AND YOUNGSTERS

Mate, dont get personal. I'd wager you were the more armchair supporter, But what you said about marketing is true.

i rate that Brazil kit highly very beautiful.... I want it and what puma are doing is simply shameful, how they are getting away with such a cheat is beyond me...if I was the president of a National federation I would be asking Puma for my money back.....

Even Angola's kit has seemingly lost its "character" - for a while they had yellow and black horizontal stripes across the front of the shirt, and the effort Puma came up with for World Cup 2006 also had the stripes. But this year it's a plain red shirt with black and yellow trim.

Puma teams are becoming clones of one another.

i really think i am the odd one out here... i really like the puma kits

fair enough they all look the same... but i think the design is simple yet very good

if only one team used this kit everybody would be screaming out how well puma made a simple kit look great

I think it looks good, and so do most of other people here too, I guess, but the thing is just, that they shouldn't all look alike. It's a classy design, but they should do something more than come up with one design a year. Some teams with this design, stripes for some countries, just don't make 30 kits that (besides the colour) look alike.

Today whilst looking in a sports shop in town I saw the new Italy and Poland (typical in the town where I live, it's like being in Warsaw lol) shirts, the material is a lot better than the v1.06 kits. The Puma logos on the front and shoulders feel rather plasticky though, rather than laser-printed or embroidered like on most other brands' kits.
