What about Ireland new kit? Was it released as well? Will they be wearing it tomorrow?
I would guess so.

When the new Engl*nd home shirt got released and was first used, I'm pretty sure going from memory that Rep. of Ireland wore their new away kit that same night. We'll soon see tomorrow what's what.

Yeah, I think they did not do an actual presentation of the away kit last year, I wondered whether they would do it this year. Apparently not, I hope to see the new kit tomorrow

Oh well...

where do I start with the differences? i mean, the shade of blue is brighter ... the sleeves are different ... the swoosh is a different colour AND is in a different place .. the club badge too has been moved ... there's a new star above the badge ... the collar is slightly more depressed ... there's a swanky chequered pattern lining the inside of the collar, likely coupled with a touching embroidered message ... come on, the two shirts are as completely unlike each other as is humanly possible! :p (H)

why picking on Barça? our red shorts were worn during the historic League and Champions League-winning season of 2005/06 ... those shorts were worn in that Champions League final, and will go down in history as a winning outfit ... some kit-maker 20 years down the line will make another Barça kit with red shorts, as a tribute to the second Golden Age of Barça ...

the point I'm trying to make is that there is no way to compare Barça's legendary red shorts to a jersey that highlights England's embarrassing failure to qualify for EURO 2008 ...

Man, i am not picking on Barca. I agree those reddish shirts will go down in history, but i am just saying, that of the end of that 05/06 season everyone was yelling "Wow, how is it possible to wear those dark tomato shorts?" and at the end of the day traditions are sometimes less important than some great innovative idea.. Whatever. I personally don't think Barca should always wear red shorts that's why i am happy they turned ot the traditional dark blue ones, but the England away kit is the same thing - some new stuff based on old jersey - although i personally won't draw a connection between the old Lineker pic and the new one posted here..

Anyway, like i said, people would buy it to stay up to date, ya know what i mean :D:gavin:

Italy Home

Oh god I hate those numbers - I was watching the African Cup of Nations and thought my screen was fuzzy. Puma's number font was awesome as it was.

Just had a flick through the television channels for tonight's friendlies, sorry, no pics yet...

Wales are wearing their new away kit as previously announced, it's like the home kit but in yellow with red trim, no green on it at all. They put black and white Kappa logos on the sleeves which look out of place, then again we're probably wearing another kit in August anyway. And yes I should have been at the game tonight only muggins here has got to travel 15 miles to pick my missus up from work in an hour's time, so I could have only stayed there 45 minutes, argh! :$

Republic of Ireland are wearing a new Umbro home kit against Brazil right now, the keeper kit is navy. Brazil's keeper is wearing a black kit. Northern Ireland however are not wearing a new Umbro kit tonight, I guess that'll soon be revealed though, opponents Bulgaria are wearing a typical boring new Puma away kit design in red with green shorts.

England are in their (rank) red away kit against Switzerland, looks like both teams swapped colours for the night.

hahaha, nice one!

a note about the new puma home numbering: unlike Mikey M., I love the LED-like styling! that italy kit would have looked great with gold numbering because of all the gold trim on the shirt, but they've gone for white numbering for some reason ... it looks weird, and hopefully this is only a temporary glitch ...

Portugal, meanwhile, are not wearing a new home kit ... they obviously haven't released that home kit we saw a leaked pic of ... and i suppose they haven't released their away kit either, coz I'm sure it'll be white, and it would have worked fine against the Azzurri ...

Holland's away kit looks refreshingly different ... maybe I just feel that way coz the Oranje are up 2-0 ...

coupled with blue shorts and socks, France's red away looks very smart indeed! contrastingly, Spain have opted to pair their "gold" away kit with white (?!) shorts and socks ... thought it would be all-"gold", or dark navy shorts ...

The Australia kikt looked good live, I liked the subtle green touches.

The England kit looks a lot better on TV than it does looking still but not as good as any other England away kit.

I'm not a fan of the new Puma home numbers, they look so glitched and tacky, yet the away ones aren't too bad. It does seem weird that Italy have white numbers when in the presentation they were gold. I saw personalised Italy shirts on Subside which had white fonts and thought it was an error because I expected them to be gold, but they were right in the first place, interesting!

Yep that does seem a little bit odd, maybe the new Nike home kits (apart from Brazil) will be unveiled later this month or perhaps next month, we'll soon see...

It does indeed, I had the previous home shirt which I thought looked smart but the blue one does look quite nice. Interestingly with the comment about "old" Nike shirts above, Croatia are in their old home kit in that game, even though we've seen leaked pics of the supposed new home shirt. In addition Turkey are wearing their soon-to-be-superseded home kit against Sweden.

France's kit looks alright, almost got me mixed up with Spain because Spain have typically worn red with blue shorts. Spain's away kit does seem odd, having white shorts and socks with it, unless the home shorts are also defined as the first choice for use with the away kit and these white sets are "change" shorts/socks. Interesting!

Also Israel are wearing a new Puma boring away kit (with collar) in blue with blue and white hooped socks. Finland are wearing their new home kit in Greece (who are in their new blue away kit BTW) - it's very much similar in design to the Latvia kit above, which makes me think that Romania (who aren't wearing a new kit tonight) will have a similar kit style in time for Euro 2008.

The colour issue could be caused 'cuz of the lightning. I guess.

Anyway, it's true about Puma, what are they thinking with that home and away fonts? Also the home one looks blurry, i also thought something was wrong with the image of my screen at first, or that the picture didn't load completely, but no, it looks horrible.

I understand your disappointment, it doesn't look much different at all, shame on Umbro.

Slovenia away kit

Looks identical to the Serbia away kit (but in dark green/white).

A side note in talk of Uruguay and Puma - Uruguay wore their current Puma v1.06 style home kit in last night's match with Colombia, I'm not sure if their deal with Puma is set to continue or come to an end considering the AUF aren't featured on Puma Football's website. They signed a deal with Puma in late 2006 if I recall, after their then-current deal with Uhlsport finished early. We'll have to wait and see on that one.
