need some help

downloaded the demo a few days back...and i still cant figure this game out...iv been practically mastered every fifa game so far such that world class got pretty simple....same was the case with fifa 2003....then i played WE7 which i really loved...and now i cant seem to get the hang of this game...
a few questions.....

1)how do u dribble---i cant seem to keep the ball or go past a player...every time i press the shift button i lose the ball...and with the walk button well he just walks!...and shuffles abit... really need those who have got the hang of the demo to let the rest of us in on how to do things in this game....

2)crosses - there seems to be no width...no1 ever gets into a wide postion...i really have to make an effort to do so...and thats too much of a pain and unrealistic...

3)OTB...no idea how im suppost to learn this mode...who has the time to press z then select a player ...then make a run then pass.....

if theres anyone whose already become quite good at this game...please help!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really not that good of a player but I might be able to help some.
Dribbling past an opponent is very difficult, and I haven't been too succesful at it, but I'll try and explain how.

To do moves, hold shift + C. then do a combo of arrow keys, such

as left up right, down down up. right up left. and so on.

I find it very hard to do succesfully.

It is also hard to do crosses, I usually use off the ball control, or

do a basic run into space and push lob, then D for header.

And off the ball, to use off the ball press z the number of corresponding times.

eg. if player has a number 2 over his head press z 2 times to

control him. use shift plus arrow keys to make him move to space, and tap a to lob it to him. w is through pass. hold a for more power on lob.

I hope that helps at least a little bit.

thanks alot..ill try that....but doesnt it make the game really unrealistica if u cant cross properly.....but its wierd...yesterday i won a game 6-1 altho boring and similar goals and tday im trying but just cant do anything....

Did you score from outside the box?
I could only get 1 breakaway in my whole time playing the demo.
I cant seem to get deep inside the box. If you have tips........

is hard to get breakaways agains a team that has a lot of defenders in the back.. and plays with quick counter attacks.. they never get out of position.. and they always have 4 in the back.

so how in the world do you score? (besides shooting the ball

from a far ways out.) In semi pro its easy to score from long

range. It's not so easy in other difficulties. I play in semi pro and

am having a problem scoring from deep in the opponents box.

Every time i use otb control to do this, it's offside. I only have

won one game so far. I have scored in most all of them, but they

were from long range, the top of the box. so how am i supposed to score.

FIFA 2004 is now the exact opposite of FIFA 2003 in passing and scoring. Last year, all the goals were scored from breakaways and barely any from outside the box, in 2004 all the goals are scored from outside the box and barely none from breakaways mainly becuase of not being able to get passed defenders the way you did last year in 2003. But hey, we'll probably learn from practice when the real game comes out.

WELL AGAIN ILL TELL YOU GUYS WHAT I HEARD< THAT THE DEMO OF FIFA2004 DOESNT HAVE WORLD CALSS SO U WERE WINNING IN PRO OR SEMI PRO, SO START PULLING URE SLEEVES UP FOR THE FIRST GAME OF WORLD CLASS IN THE REAL GAME WHERE ULL BE BEATEN!!!

yeah there isnt any world class in the demo....
but yup i have started scoring different goals...so thank u juventus1....iv scored from crosses,corners and now the game seems more realistic...
still the gameplay hasnt been open and there hasnt ever been any space to attack...its all about trying to 'unlock' the defense and that gets bugging after awhile...maybe that has to do with the teams being italian....not sure...
can someone help me the the OTB thingie...im using a keyboard and it looks impossible to find the time to press Z..then move the player woth shift and then pass it...all keeping in mind the guy with the bal shudnt lose possesion...how do u do it???...any ideas any1?...and is it alot easier with the gamepad??
