Need some help with ML

I just started a ML with a default team because i like the concept to build up a good team from nothing. Now i played about 8 matches with this team and this was very dificult because the players seems to react very slowly. But i won a couple of matches because of a penalty.
Now i need some tips how i can improve my team. When is the best time to go looking for some other players, after 1 season or perhaps after a couple of seasons ?
Hoping that the default players get a little bit better each match and that i can win more matches, without the need of a penalty.

What formation do you play with ?

And what players do need to look first for ?

Thats the point of (and the problem with) the Master League. To get good players on you need to scrape results out with crap players - but then that means when you CAN get decent players obviously you will be so much better etc.

Anyway; my advice is as soon as you can get a couple of quick strikers to play up front. Thats the best way to get some quick 1-2's and thru balls via them to get some goals. After you have 2 quick strikers, its a quick midfielder with decent passing; and just work your way back on new players.
