I bought a Radeon 9600 XT with 128MB yesterday but it crashes whenever I try to run a game. Everything seems fine in Windows and I could watch streaming video for an hour without even a hiccup but once I try to run a game (tested FIFA 2004, PES3 & Madden 2004) it'll crash, but not always at the same point. Sometimes I can get through the menus and load the game, sometimes it crashes in the menus - it's always different.
I did everything that was indicated in the instructions:
Upgraded motherboard chipset AGP drivers
Removed previous video display drivers
Removed video card
Installed new video card
Installed video display drivers
Updated to latest video display drivers
Unseated the card, re-seated the card
I also updated the DirectX drivers to 9.0.
I have an ASUS A7V motherboard and a 1gig Athlon with 512MB RAM.
Anybody know what's the problem?
I'm guessing that there is an AGP setting that I'm missing somewhere. Do I have to re-set anything in the BIOS?
