Time and unforseen occurence befall us all. By then Rooney could have a career ending injury, or even a car accident. Seriously, I just prefer the idea of a bigger striker along with the small and pacey owen. And Carlton Cole can actually score. unlike Huskey. Nice line-up. Some things though:

- Convey has never played on the right, Mathis has never played as a wide midfielder
- I wouldn't pick Cherundolo in a three-man backline. He's not that good of a defender. What makes him a valuable player is his ability to join the attack.
- where's John O'Brien?

Basically, Arena is going to try his best to get the best talent on the pitch. I think at this time, Martino will definitely be good enough to start, and I am not so sure if Reyna will be as good as he was last year. Hell, he isn't as good now as he was last year. I see a lot of people putting Donovan as a mid, but the only place I see him is striker because he is the most effective there.

Another switch that could be made is to put O'Brien back but I think he is best at midfield and his skills are wasted at left back.

It won't be long before Gibbs plays at a top flight club.

You are right about Cherundolo in the sense that he can't play in a 3 man backline. He is only 5'6''. However, I think he is a fine defender and should at least make that roster, but he isn't starting quality in a WC.
